Oh boy, the big one eight; I've been alive for a decade and eight years. When you say eighteen, it doesn't sound all awesome or whatever, but when you say a decade and eight years, it sounds like...a huge milestone or something. Or maybe that's just me. Omg, that also reminds me of Abe Lincoln's Four Score and Seven Years Ago speech thingy, lol. Sorta.

Well, here I am. Technically, it won't be my birthday until 7:42am...which means, that at this exact moment, seventeen years and seven hours ago, my mother was in the hospital, getting ready to push me out. Ack, don't picture that. YUCK. GROSSSSSSSS.

Anyway, these past couple of weeks leading up to...today...have been bittersweet. Yeah, I think that's the word. I don't know, maybe I'm just a weird teen or something but the whole aspect of turning eighteen just isn't so exciting to me. I get that whoop-de-doo, you're an adult now...somewhat...and you get to go do adult stuff...but all those years of being an innocent are gone...kinda. In all reality, turning eighteen is just like any other birthday and eighteen just becomes another number, yet at the same time, things sorta...shift and all those things turn into negative statements. Turning eighteen isn't just like any other birthday, eighteen just doesn't become another number. It marks your year of becoming an adult, of you coming into your own person, of you getting to discover who you are, and so much more.

And I guess all of that is exciting yet I feel like I'm leaving behind a big part of my life. Okay, I'm only saying that because once school ends this summer, I'll be up and outta the house, living in another city, preparing for college. And this is just a personal thing for me, but I so don't wanna leave my bedroom behind. This is the room that built me, the room that witnessed all my ups and downs, the room that was my safe haven, the room that kept me sane in times of insanity, the room that was my home...at home. The room that edured everything with me and after six years...I can't just say bye to it like nothing. WAAAH. Me ish so sad about that. :/ Anyway, leaving to college and all that stuff is probably the reason why I'm feeling....the way I do right now. Ack, like I said the other night on the twittah,

So, with that thought, I'm going to stop worrying about what could possibly happen tomorrow and just enjoy today. My day. My oh so very special day.

Well, people here we are! Today is Alexandria Andros's 18th birthday! Seeing that I was her advocate during the Heroine Tournament, I figured it was sorta fitting that I threw my girl a virtual birthday party! If you've read Half-Blood (and even Pure, for some of you), you would know that once Alex turns eighteen, a lot of kick-assery is going down, so much so that she probably won't even have time to celebrate her birthday. So, that's what we're here for!

Alex, my girl, happy happy happy 18th birthday! When I first found out that we're two days apart, I seriously flipped. I even suggested to Jennifer that we should throw a crazy, wacky birthday party, you know like birthday party of the century, but she told me you'd have other...bigger pressing issues so...I settled for a mini virtual party. ;)

I know that with your 18th birthday, a lot of shit will be hitting the fan but in the midst of all of it, I hope you can still take the time to remember that you're alive and still breathing. On this day, I hope you get to take a break from all the daimon killing - who am I kidding? Is that even possible? I mean, it is your 18th birthday and all....well, I hope Aiden and Seth take into consideration that after today, life will most likely be heaven and hell all in one, so I hope they're nice enough to give ya a much needed break. For a day, at least.

Books Over Boys - Back in Order!

Oh fellow bookworms, I am back! It hasn't been too long now, has it?! Wait, I need to give each and every single one of you one of these:

LMAO, man I could never get enough of these .gifs! Well, Momo is back and Books Over Boys is up and running again. During my time off, slowly but surely, I read and finished three books! Squee! BIG. TIME. Remember in my last post how I said that I would be forever grateful to the book that would pull me outta my reading funk? Well, that book is Moon Spell by Samantha Young. Seriously you guys, it's such an amazing book and I want all of you guys to read it, or at least check it out! :)

I read book one, two, and three in five days. I couldn't get enough of them and I still can't believe it's over. They were so exhilarating and I was on a book high for days, you don't even know! And after I finished Moon Spell, I felt like I was finally able to breathe again. I felt like the sun finally came out from behind the clouds, I felt like flowers were blossoming all over, I felt like the little birdies came out to sing and I felt...at home. <333

During my time off, not only did I finish a series, I had time to myself and to think about how I've been blogging and what works for me and what doesn't. I also had time to reflect back on how I've been...running things, so to speak. I came to realize that my reviews suck butt. Big time. No, seriously, they do. If I could, all my reviews...well, most of them, would say something along the lines of, "Read this book because it's amazing, it's freakin' awesome, and it's one of my most favorites evah!" I feel like when I write my reviews, I write a whole lot of nothing. They're all over the place and they don't make any sense and it's just all bad.

*a teeny, tiny sliver of frustration sets in* *wipes it away*

Anyway, I still don't know where blogging and I stand but for now, I'm here. Nothing much happened with me since my last blog post to now besides:

I started watching Supernatural
I finished Moon Spell, River Cast, and Blood Solstice
I took care of a whole lot of college bs
I got my sister-in-law to read Angelfire (ginormous squee!)

and

I'm staying on top of my school work...stuff.

Boring, eh? Well, there's what's been up with me...in a nutshell. Tomorrow, I have something sorta, kinda huge to share with all of you, so don't forget and come back to find out what it is!

Hiatus, yes please!

I've never heard of the word hiatus until The Vampire Diaries - who seem to be so famous for going on breaks. All over the twittah, when TVD would pull a hiatus, I would see that ↑ word and think, "Oh, that's what they're [TVD] on!" I never looked up the word because in the context that everyone was using it, I sorta figured what it meant.

For a long while now, I've sorta been...disconnected with reading, blogging, more reading, and more blogging and I think it means that a hiatus is in tow. If you've seen my tweets on the twittah, you would know that I haven't been able to pick up a book and read it from start to end. I'll pick it up, read it more than 3/4 of the way through and then I'll just put it back on my shelf until who knows when. When I do that, I'm screaming at myself like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! PICK IT BACK UP, YOU'RE ALMOST DONE!" And I totally agree with myself but just reading that line right there doesn't feel right. I don't wanna force myself to finish a book just for the sake of finishing it. If I'm not feeling a book, I wanna wait and give myself time until I can fully appreciate the book for what it is because if I just finish it to finish it, I feel like I had to read it instead of reading it for fun....and that's just not me. Unless, it's for school. LMAO.

Now, if you haven't noticed, I haven't posted a book review on my blog since the last day of last year. That's a really long time to go without reviews but in my defense, lol, I take about forty minutes up to an hour for every single one of my reviews because...I like to write long reviews; I feel like it helps get how I felt and what I liked about the book thoroughly across. And you can't really post a review if you haven't been reading. I don't know what it is, it's just this really, weird funk that I've been in since forever and I can't get out of it. I'll be forever thankful for the book that will save me.

What's even more weird is that my brain constantly wants to read yet every time I pick up a book, I get bored or...what's even worse, sleepy! Argh, such a fail. I could sit in front of my shelf for hours on end, just staring at my books thinking about starting this book or oooh, how about this book, or how about this book, Momo?! But I don't ever pick up a book because said scenario just rinses and repeats.

And as all of this is going on inside my overactive mind, I roam the twittah to find that plenty of other bloggers are already on like...their fiftieth book of the year and it just blows my mind. I feel inadequate and slow and so behind but I tell myself, "I was never a mad reading machine before, why do I need to change the way I read just because I blog now?!" I'm not saying that being on your fiftieth book is the most horrible thing ever, it isn't, at all. I'm proud of you guys who can do that; I wish I could, lol! But for me, personally, I just get overwhelmed and raunchy if I ever tried to read that many books.

Also, when it comes to blogging nowadays, I just get....turned off. I dread opening up a blog post to write something up, I dread seeing my blogger dashboard, I....just feel like it's too much right now. And if that's how I'm feeling, a break is definitely what I think I need. I'm feeling quite burned out right now and so here I am, writing up a post to tell you all that Books Over Boys will be out of order until....further notice. I mean, I might pop in every now and then for a post but other than that, BOB will be closed until....I have no idea.

By the way, this post was only supposed to be like a paragraph long, but there went my mouth, yapping off before I could stop it. ;)

I hope all of you guys will still stick by BOB and I as we go on our vacation or rehab...thingy, so to speak, lol. We're not abandoning any of you; we will be back just not for a while, probably. I heart all of you and I will miss you guys dearly. Don't miss me and my outrageously weird humor too much! xD

It has this glow to it that is so mesmerizing! I just looked at it again and it's definitely the font and coloring on the title. I can't wait to see it in person!

And for some reason, when I look at LNM's cover, I feel like...I'm going to attend a ball or I feel like a scene like that is involved with this book. I don't know, weird. Rylie's been bitten.

I purchased all of these books this week and I can't wait to dig into all of them. I haven't read Unearthly yet but I trust that it's amazing so I went ahead and got Hallowed and my oh my, the two of them, together on my shelf are so pretty and shiny! I also can't wait to start Everneath as well; it's so pretty and the cover is super soft and addicting to touch. :)

Onto Angelfire, like I mentioned above, this is my second copy. I had to get this one because 1.) it's the paperback copy and 2.) there are awesome extras in the back - win! Every time I see a copy of Angelfire at the store, I have the strongest urge to just pick it up and buy another copy. I love it that much, yes.

I also want the German copy. You're probably like

you don't read German, heck you're not even German. And...that's totally right but like I said, I love this series like crazy and I want every version of every copy available. Call me crazy, call me dumb, call me stupid. I call it I'M IN LOVE WITH WILL....AND CADAN. BWAHA! <3

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 13 + An Extra Peopleburger

I bought a plain white cake at the grocery store after school, and as soon as I got home, I realized I didn't want tonight to be just Will and me. I wanted all of his friends there, so he knew that he still had them, that he hadn't lost everything but me. I called up Lauren, Marcus, and even Ava and made sure they'd be at my grandmother's house. Lauren, thankfully, volunteered to come over and hang out with me before the party.
I also bought some icing tubes to scribble all over Will's birthday cake, but once I got to decorating, I decided I didn't want to make some boring cake. I wanted to create something that would make him laugh. Lauren sat across from me at the kitchen table as I kinda drew snarling stick reapers with angry eyes and sharp, gaping mouths on their bubble heads and outspread wings, all surrounding a figure in the middle who was supposed to be Will. I stopped in the middle of the icing drawing and frowned disapprovingly. The stick Will didn't look much like real Will, so I dabbed on a pair of green eyes, outlined him a pair of wings, and painted a sword in his hand that wasn't quite as fancy as the real thing. Then I took the red icing tube and splattered the whole cake with it until it was a freaking massacre of frosting stick reapers. I even smeared red on the sword and wrote HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL across the top in the drippy red icing. Nana glared at me and cleared her throat noticeably as she passed the table, and Lauren looked up at her apologetically. Regular cakes are no fun. This one was awesome.
At seven, Nana left to go play poker with her girl friends. (Or I should say she went to go destroy her girl friends at poker. Since she was psychic, it was sort of cheating.) I called Will to come over. Everyone arrived a few minutes before he did and went into the kitchen. It would have been impossible to truly surprise Will, since he'd notice Marcus's and Lauren's cars parked in the driveway - which of course he - but he came inside very confused. I had on a ridiculous grin as I led him through the house toward the kitchen.
As soon as Will saw the cake, he burst out laughing and shook his head, running a hand through his hair. His cheeks were beginning to buzz with red and my heart lifted. "Ellie, what is this?"
This was one of those scenes where the atmosphere was a little...lighter and not so intense and sad but don't be fooled, the pain and all that was there, just beneath the surface. Yesterday was supposed to end my whole event in celebration of Wings of the Wicked but my awesome girl friend, Jena from SHORTIE SAYS..., had an amazing post that will conclude these two weeks of awesomeness. (Well, I hope it was two whole weeks of awesomeness for all of you.)

- My Character Gush Sesh -

1) So, it's no secret that I ADORE Courtney Allison Moulton's Angelfire Series. There's just SO much to fall in love with. It's action-packed, unique, romantic, sexy, funny, thrilling... and just plain all-around stunning.

Also, Will. You all know Will right? This fella right here...

Yeah.... let's just take a second to stare at him shall we?

Did you take your second?

Oh wait, you need more time?

Still?

OKAY GOD, I KNOW HE'S GORGEOUS... BUT MY TURN NOW.

I forgot what I was talking about now. Jesus! ...Oh wait I remember, Will. Well, with this series... Will happens to be one of my FAVORITE book boyfriends. I absolutely adored him in Angelfire and then in Wings Of The Wicked grew to love him even more. He has these glowing green eyes. The way he can fight, the fact that he has given up everything and would do anything for Ellie never fails to amaze me. He's sexy. He's strong. Everything he does just completely melts my heart. I am absolutely DYING to read more about him in book3.

2) Ellie. I love how she's small and petite. With red hair, and KICK ASS fighting skills. She's one of those main character that can always hold her own. I absolutely love going through all her battles with her. Whether it's with friends, with Will, with Cadan, with reapers, or whoever! As anxious as I am for her story to continue in book3, I also don't want it to end!

3) And I must mention Cadan. So... in Angelfire, I thought hey he's good looking and funny... whatever, I still LOVE WILL WITH ALL MY HEART. But... BUT... after reading Wings Of The Wicked, I actually really grew to love Cadan. He's got more in his heart than you think. Not to mention he's absolutely sexy and has the best lines ever! (cough I'm still Team Will... well TEAM WELLIE. Though I'd take Cadan for myself if he uh needs someone.)

Okay, well you've probably had enough of me raving about the characters, if you want to know more about what I thought of the book, next is my review!! :)

- Jena's Wings Of The Wicked Review -

I can't even begin to explain how much Courtney outdid herself with this book. Angelfire was fantastic, but Wings Of The Wicked was pure brilliance. Pure perfection. I'm in complete awe.

We start off right in the action, Ellie in full kick-ass swing...
Preliator style. She's still trying to juggle fighting and her normal
life and it's all exhausting. And hunts only seem to becoming harder as
stronger reapers come after her. Then she receives a message, a help of
sort from someone she least expects... Cadan. She's not sure to trust
him, but before soon everything comes crashing down. The worlds worst
reapers are after her, her emotions and Will's are all over the place,
she's getting help from someone she least expects, and her human life is
crashing down around her. Ellie must figure out a way to set things
right before she loses everything she loves.

I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to put into words how amazing
this book was. So please bear with me while I just spit out
complements. Wings of the Wicked starts off right in the action,
the first page, hell, the first chapter packs a serious punch. And
things just continue from there. My emotions were reeling all over the
place throughout this book. This book has everything you could ever ask
for. There's normalcy, angels, demons, fights, love, gut-wrenching
heartache, action, laughs, kick-ass moments, and everything in between.

Ellie is an outstanding all-around fantastic protagonist. Shes strong,
yet vulnerable. She's kick-ass... I mean she can just be like 'Oh hey
reaper, *chop with my fancy angel fire swords*, there goes your head!"
And she does it. She's still caring towards her family and friends and
completely cares about them, while also understanding and caring for her
duties as the Preliator too.

There were so many other characters that I loved through out this book.
Nathaniel and Lauren were the ones you cannot help but love. Marcus...
funny, flirty, strong. Ava... I still don't like her, but she certainly
can kick ass. Kate, always being the funny, caring best friend! Ellie's
Nana, I loved her role in this book! And, oh hmmm Cadan.
In Angelfire, I liked Cadan a lot but I didn't love him.
At least not like I loved Will. I have to admit in Wings Of The Wicked,
I ADORED Cadan. I finally grew to love him. His wittiness, his
vulnerability we get shown, and his strength. And, I cannot wait to see
more of him in the next book.

Finally, Will. It is impossible to not fall in love with him. His
perfect body, his perfect green eyes, his perfect protectiveness, his
perfect emotions, his perfect willingness, his perfect love for Ellie. I
love everything about him. I loved watching him kick reapers asses, I
loved watching him fight for Ellie and doing everything he does for her.
I love all the little things he does, as well as the big things. He's
given up his life for her, and I can't imagine not loving him. He's an
overall perfect character to me.

I could probably rant on forever, but I won't.
I just want to tell you all that Wings Of The Wicked
is thrilling, emotional, kick-ass, fun, beautiful, and absolutely
perfect. Courtney pull out all her weapons and wrapped them up into one
big, gorgeous masterpiece. I was sucked in from page one and pulled
completely through to the end. I loved every chapter, every page, every
line, and every word.

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 12

Lauren and I sat on the porch bench and draped a quilt over us to watch the boys spar in the backyard. The melting snow added difficulty to their training, making it harder for them to move, and that was why it worked. Will laughed as Nathaniel slipped and splashed in the wet snow and mud.

"Nice move," Will said, and rested his sword over his shoulder, rolling his eyes.

Nathaniel rolled over and clambered to his feet. He snorted through a wide grin and shoved Will's shoulder. "That doesn't count toward points. I slipped."

Will scoffed. "Come on, man. That's pathetic."

"Hey," Nathaniel said with a wave of his finger. "I'm a reader, not a fighter."

"Keep it friendly, boys," Lauren called. "Maybe I should keep score so nobody cheats." She tugged the blanket a little tighter when a cold breeze blew by, and we exchanged smiles and I shook my head.

Nathaniel spun the sword in his hand just to show off as he advanced on Will. Then he vanished, moving so quickly my eyes lost him for a heartbeat, but Will spun around, sweeping his blade up to meet Nathaniel's as the other vir reappeared. Will's sword dwarfed Nathaniel's, but I was surprised at Nathaniel's skills and ease with the thin, sleek blade. He was definitely much more of a bookworm than a fighter, which was a part of his charm, but that didn't mean he didn't know how to kick some ass. He seemed to match each of Will's strikes, at least until Will tired of going easy on him.

The way Will fought was hypnotizing. His graceful ferocity was the most beautiful, calculated thing I'd ever seen. His movements as he dodged Nathaniel's swift strikes were so slight and effortless that it almost appeared to be a dance he knew to his very soul.

The snow made no hindrance to their battle as it flew everywhere in the air, streaks of white following silver blades and sweeping, feather-light footsteps. Nathaniel deflected Will's sword with his own and Will's elbow smashed into Nathaniel's nose, knocking him back. Nathaniel brought his blade up and Will swung his down, silver crashing together, and Nathaniel kicked his boot into Will's chest, forcing him to stagger on his heels.

Isn't that scene just beautiful?! And I had to add those images of snow for your viewing pleasure because I couldn't help myself. But seriously, that was one of my most favorite...fighting/sparring scene. The snow floating around, Will and Nathaniel's gracefulness, the clinging of their swords - deep sigh. B-e-a-utiful!

The author has created an eerie and alluring world of angels, demons and reincarnation. It’s so engrossing; I found it hard to put down. The plot isn’t original but the contents and quality of the writing is and what stood out to me most was the action. The action can be described as being very intense, rapid and descriptive.

Hero & Heroine = Will & Ellie

YA heroes and couples are difficult to write about, especially if you are trying to win your readers over. Most readers end up hating the female/male lead, the romance development (instant-love) or end up going for the underdog. Trust me; Will and Ellie are NOT like that.

It’s all about the characteristics and the chemistry. Ellie and Will are both distinct characters that are very likable and the attraction between them is undeniable…and oh-so forbidden.

Hero = Will: Will is attractive,charming and also, Ellie’s guardian. He’s completely faithful to Ellie; he sticks around and comforts her when she is down. Will has great fighting skills and is a hundred and ten-percent devoted to Ellie. He trains and constantly challenges her. It’s obvious that he cares deeply about Ellie because he lover her so selflessly and will do anything to protect her.

Heroine = Ellie: Ellie is no damsel in distress. She’s smart, reasonable and not TSTL (Too-Stupid-To-Live). Ellie is a Preliator, a mortal who has the power to kill reapers. Ellie undergoes a transformation as her powers awakens, as she starts understanding her purpose in life she becomes stronger, powerful and determined to fulfil her destiny.

Hero & Heroine = Will & Ellie: They make a great team. They’re both fierce fighters and will do anything for the greater good of all humanity. Individually, they are strong but together they are powerful and fierce! Where one is vulnerable in one area the other makes up for it; they’re perfect, like the sun and the moon. Together he and Ellie, stop the evil that is threatening to end the world. Romantically, hands down, they make an awesome couple. There’s no instant-love, they’re love for each other felt realistic and passionate.

"So?" Kate pressed.

I let out a breath and ate a bite of my lunch. "I don't know. It's just so hard, seeing him so much and not being with him."

"He's still tutoring you, right?"

"Yeah. He's coming tonight and to your party Saturday."

"Pretending to be friends is impossible when you like someone that much."

"Even if we stopped hanging out, I'd have to see him for our tutoring sessions." If one considered my sparring, patrolling, and fighting evil soul-stealing monsters with Will tutoring.

"Can't you get a different tutor?"

"Not really. We were sort of paired together."

"Has he kissed you since you broke up?"

My stomach considered imploding. "No."

"Well, that makes things easier. I don't know. Keep hanging out with him. If he still loves you, then it's got to be hard for him, too. He'll cave. He's a guy. And it's not like you can stop loving someone just like that. It takes a long time, not overnight. It takes a long time to fall in love and to fall out of love. My advice is to remind him of what he's missing as often as possible."

"Like how?"

"Be cute. Be sexy. Just use what you have, lover. I'm sure you know what he likes best about you. Flaunt it. When he misses it - misses you - too much, he'll come running back. You see him so often. It can't be difficult."

Lately, I've been in a weird reading funk so I am now re-reading Wings of the Wicked and this quote came from the page that I last left off on. This is a heart to heart conversation that Ellie and her biff, Kate, are having at lunch.

Did I forget to mention that Kate is one of my most favorite character from this series?! She's totally awesome! If I could make any character from this book become real, besides Will, it would definitely have to be Kate. She's just too cool. :)

Hello everyone. I know it has been an incredibly long time since I have blogged but I just wanted to tell you how excited I am that Wings of the Wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton will be out on the 31st of this month! My friend Momo over at Books Over Boys is doing a tribute to this amazing series leading up to the release next week. I promised her I would post about my fangirlish love of the Angelfire series.

A few months back I featured Wings of the Wicked in my Top 10 Sequels I'm dying to read. You can read that entry here but this is my brief blurb about the series:

Wings of the Wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton (Angelfire #2): Ellie & Will captivated me in Angelfire. I love their relationship but at the same time they give me heartache. Courtney is an awesome storyteller and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

I meant every word I said even though it was short and to the point. In general I do not read many "angel" based paranormal books because they mostly fall short for me. I can't put my finger on it, but there have been several books/series that were extremely popular that I read and didn't fall in with the hype.

Angelfire was not one of these.

First there are nightmares.
Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her.

Then come the memories.
When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.

It seriously blew me away. Made me laugh. Made me bawl my eyes out. In 2011 I read A LOT of books but something about this particular book resonated with me. Ms. Moulton's debut was just spot-on. It truly swept me off my feet. Ever read a book and at the end sat in stunned silence just drinking in what you just finished? Hugged the book afterward? Flipped it to the front to start over from page 1 to relive the entire book? Angelfire was one of those for me.

Ellie is so determined. Of course she has flaws but she was pretty much the epitome of the word heroine for me. If you look up the "heroine" in the dictionary you could expect to find her picture as the entry.

Will. Oh Will. Where do I begin? Crazy skilled at whatever he touches whether it be swords or guitars, this boy will knock you for a loop. He can charm your pants off but won't because he's a gentleman, but DANG the boy gave me shivers!

I'm at the age when if I am reading, I cannot be listening to music (unless it has no words) or the television because I cannot divide my attention so I don't have a personal soundtrack to share with you. However, I can say that Ms. Moulton's playlist she has posted on her website was absolutely spot on. The above piece, "Preliator" by Globus is indeed EPIC. I bought the CD because I just LOVE stuff like this. If you listen to this and don't feel EPIC or that there is a battle brewing, you must need to clean out your ears or have your head examined. I seriously got chills when I first listened to "Preliator".

Now - for the biggest geeky confession EVER... I am a closet Guitar Hero junky. I love creating band members. Add my love of music, literature, & Guitar Hero together and what do you get? Bands made up of book characters. I admit it. I made Will into a guitar playing avatar on one of my Guitar Hero bands. *facepalm* I'm truly a hot mess when it comes to this series.

If you haven't read Angelfire you should. On February 1st (Jan 31st for you state-siders), I will be on the seat of my couch, 1-click purchasing my copy of Wings of the Wicked. I probably won't even log onto Twitter that day because I will have my nose buried in my e-reader screen. /end fangirl rant

Angelfire & Wings of the Wicked: Just do it. You won't regret it.

I launched myself at the reaper, pushing off the floor with my toes, my power detonating behind me, demolishing the wall and shattering the tile floor. The reaper was too slow for me. I swung my elbow across my chest and pounded the bone into his skull. He crumpled to his knees. I kicked the back of his head and his palms hit the floor. He tried to rise, but my power erupted into his face, sending him flying across the foyer and crashing into the staircase. Wood splintered and exploded, the cloud of dust almost blinding. The reaper staggered to his feet, stumbling down the steps. I stepped up to him, the torrent of rage swallowing me and releasing everything I'd been afraid of inside of me. I didn't care what sort of damage I caused. I wanted to damage. My hair whipped around my face in the tempest that the white light of my power and the darkness within me had created. He took a swing at me, but my senses were spinning so fast that I sidestepped his blow and smashed my fist into his face. His jaw made a sickening tearing sound and whirled loose, flinging free and out of sight. I threw my power into his body, knocking the wind from his chest and the feet out from under him. His back hit the floor and I leaped on top of him. I beat his face and shredded his skin with my nails. When his body turned to stone, I still tore at him, dragging my nails across rock until they were bloodied and broken. Dust soaked thickly into the blood splattered across my face and clothes, filling my lungs until I was choking on it.

Hands grabbed me and looped around my waist and tried to pull me back. I shrieked and thrashed, fighting off the hands and clawing the air wildly to get back to the reaper's remains. A horrible, snarling animal noise tore from my throat - a sound that couldn't possible have been my own voice.

All day yesterday, I was on a crazy high because Wings came out. I was so energized and happy and I felt untouchable because I was that high. Man, the things book do to you. ;)

Today's teaser is from Wings and it gives you a glimpse into Ellie and her Preliator self. Doesn't she sound scary tough?! Man, I do not want to be around her when she's like that. So, how many of you went and picked up Wings of the Wicked yesterday?! I am seriously crossing my fingers that I will get to meet Courtney one day. I hope that her publisher hooks it up and brings her to California!

Erika on Angelfire: I knew this book was going to be good, but not this freaking good! My mind has been blown and I don’t think it will recover until book two! Lets get on that Courtney, xoxo! I Loved this book so much that I don’t know if any books will be able to compare. A new spin on the angel phenomenon in paranormal young adult, that I wish would have been published sooner!

The plot was very fast paced and I loved that. There was never a dull moment! I was excited for every fight scene and man this book is not short on those. Those afraid of blood this is not the book for you, and you are missing out in life because of that! I don’t know how Courtney wrote these fight scenes, I thought I was there in some of them. I also really liked the attention to detail nothing was left untouched.

Thank you Momo for letting me stop by and gush about one of my favorite books, Angelfire. I am currently anxiously awaiting the release of book two, Wings of The Wicked. Courtney Allison Moulton draws me in with her witty dialogue and bloody fight scenes.

Well, you see the actors I picked to play these three characters are the general idea of who I have pictured in my mind. I don't know what acting experience all of them have, but hey this is just a fun post here. So lets get started!!

First, for Will, we have the very swoon worthy MAX IRONS! I mean how can you not like that?!? This is what Will would look like when it was snowing. Just imagine a deadly gleam in his eye and his coat swirling around him at the dead of night in a blizzard. Yup, I thought you would think along the same lines as me and start with the chant "I need more Max Irons!" The most memorable work he has done was in Red Riding Hood that came out last year. He didn't have the male lead role, and his hair was super short, so he didn't have the ability to be at full sexy level, like in this picture.

So well now you just have to imagine these words coming out of his mouth and you will be all set!!

Now you are wondering who in sam heavens Erika, do you want to play Ellie? Let me be honest, that is a huge role to fill, and I am not exactly one hundred percent sure. The people I find that are close are either too young or too old. I do feel Elle Fanning has the potential, I mean for me, she has the look of Ellie. And it's not the name guys. The eyes and the intensity they convey to me and the depth they hold, is exactly what Ellie needs acting her character.

Now imagine her saying this:

You watch me die again and again, yet you never leave. You keep trying to save me, even though you know I'm doomed. All because some angel told you to? Come on. No more secrets,you said. You didn't think I forgot for one second about Cadan did you? HELL NO!! Well, Drew Roy needs some contacts, a different haircut and color and he will be pretty darn perfect. You all probably remember him from Secretariat. The best part about him is that he looks hot in every picture *swoon*.... ... Alright, I think Drew has that mysterious, yet snarky look that will make him the perfect foil to Max.

Omg, I totally agree with your picks! When I saw the picture you picked of Max Irons, I nearly fell over! I could totally picture Will in something like that and just add snow falling all around him - win! Then, I for sure fell over when I saw Drew Roy! He's Jessie from Hannah Montana...okay, don't...just ignore that. Anyway, he's soooo gorgeous! Like you said, with the right changes, he would totally rock Cadan. :)

As for Ellie, I'm not too sure. That is a huge role to play and I have to sit on that character pick for awhile. Hmm, let me google some actresses right now. I googled Emma Roberts because I think Courtney mentioned somewhere that she could picture her playing Ellie and...here are some pictures:

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 9

He lifted me off the floor and onto the counter, shoving the plates away and knocking over the glass of orange juice. When he pushed my knees apart, hands running up my thighs and sending a strike of lightning desire up my spine, he crushed his body against mine and I forgot about the mess entirely. His mouth and tongue were hot against my neck and I buried my hands in his hair as his arms wrapped around me and his fingertips raked down my back. One of his hands found the point of my hip and his teeth nicked the bend of my neck. I dug my nails into his shoulder and my head fell back, something wild in me craving him. My fingers grabbed a fistful of his shirt and I ached to tear it off of him, to do anything to break down the thin, aggravating barrier of cloth between our skin. I fumbled with the buttons, gasping for breath when his mouth wasn’t on mine, and I pushed his open shirt over his shoulders, my eyes capturing his muscled chest and tattoos spreading up his arm and the side of his neck.

“I’ve wanted you for so long,” he murmured against my throat between kisses. “Every time I look at you I feel like I’m about to explode, no matter how still I try to stay around you. Inside I’m like a hurricane. Everything you do… you drive me crazy.” His mouth returned to mine hungrily. “The way you play with the little curls in the ends of your hair.” He kissed me again, his hands squeezing my sides. “The way you wring the hem of your shirt with your finger and make that little face when you’re deep in thought.” Another kiss and a small, secret smile. His thumbs glided under my shirt just an inch and the contact made me gasp and dig my nails into the back of his neck. “Where you touch me it feels like I’m on fire.” Again, he kissed me, long and deep and leisurely.

Although you shouldn't need to be warned because by now, you should have read Angelfire. ;) I'm just saying.

He leaned over me until I was drowning in him. “Ellie—”

“I know why you won’t be with me,” I said, straightening myself against the wall. “It’s not just that you’re afraid of Michael. It’s because the only way we can stay together is for me to die over and over again.”

Will closed his eyes and tightened his mouth without a response..Rules, he could break. Michael, he could fight. He was most afraid that if he let down the wall he built up between us, then it would hurt too much to give in and love me as much as he ached to. If he did, I would still die regardless and he would finally break.

I took a step back from him and he let me go without protest. I didn’t look away from him until I was inside the bathroom. The door shut behind me and I locked it. My back hit the wall and I slid to the floor and cried. I heard his fist pound once on the wall in anger just outside the room. I didn’t want to end the night crying on the bathroom floor. It was so hard for me to see him every day and want him so badly, but yet again I forgot about how much it hurt him to feel the same way. It was so painful for us to be apart, but I didn’t know if either of us was strong enough to be together.

Today's ~~guest~~ post is from yours truly. As I have stated multiple times before, music is a major part of me and my reading so today, of course, I'll be featuring a bunch of stuff that's located in my Angelfire playlist on my ipod. There are quite a few songs so I'll narrow it down to like...my top five or eight or ten or something and then maybe I'll link to the rest of them.

Oh shoot, I should probably share a little snippet of my Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked reviews with you guys...if you guys wanted to hear what I thought...like that's necessary.

Momo on Angelfire: Angelfire . . . *hang on, let me gather my thoughts; swooning over Will!* Moulton delivers an amazing, refreshing, and new twist to angel mythology! Like I mentioned above, angels are making it big this year so with that every book should have this something about them that will make readers want to pick the book up! For Angelfire, forget that something and just read the book!

Angelfire opens up with an action-packed scene – throwing you right into all the action! Ellie constantly has these nightmares of her fighting reapers and every time she has these dreams, something always seems so familiar about them; as if she’s been there before. Little does she know she’s been reincarnated over and over again because she’s an ancient warrior who has the power to wield swords of angelfire to fight the reapers! As Ellie becomes more and more aware of these reapers, she starts seeing this mysterious boy appear wherever she is. Turns out that this mysterious boy, Will, is her guardian; sworn to protect her at all times in battle. At first, Ellie is very stubborn and wants to continue on with her teenage life as if none of it were true. I totally agree with her there. I mean, if there was a bomb dropped on me like that, I’d absolutely want nothing else but normal! Before you know it, there’s nothing but Ellie and Will fighting off reapers here and there!

Momo on Wings of the Wicked: Man, I swear, throughout all of Wings, Courtney Allison Moulton grabbed my emotions by the BALLLLLLS! LOL and she did not let go, even after the book had long been finished. If you haven’t read Angelfire, you are seriously missing out on something amazing and if you have, you absolutely cannot miss out on Wings of the Wicked. If you do, you will be the most deprived bookworm, ever. ;)

Like they say, if there’s a book you want to read and it hasn’t been written yet, write it yourself. Well, guess what? Luckily for me, Courtney Allison Moulton wrote the book that I have always wanted to read. Seriously. Wings of the Wicked has everything that I want in a book and then some: the kick-ass heroine, who at times is vulnerable, sweet, and sad, the perfect hero to match the heroine in all ways possible, the action was done just right, the supporting characters of Wings were amazing and oh-so-entertaining, the storyline was complex, dangerous, sweet, bitter, sad, happy, comical, and overall, Wings was just extremely un-put-down-able.

Disclaimer: Courtney Allison Moulton had stated several times that Wings of the Wicked is her baby so if you so much as give it the wrong look when you walk past it in the stores, I will pull out my butt-chopping swords on you quicker than you can say rootbeer floats! ;) Don’t mess with me and this book. Feelings…along with other stuff, will get damaged.

Okay, now onto my playlist. Before I start a book, I research the heck out of it and I check out the author's website to see if they've stated anything about music and their book. I'd rather read a book and listen to music from the author's playlist then make one myself because I feel like the author picked those specific songs for a reason and they probably tie back into the book somehow, whereas if I picked random songs myself....they might not go so well with the book. With that said, all the songs I'm about to share with you guys came straight from Courtney's playlist with the exception of one song. Also note that I listened to the same songs for book two as I did for book one because I read an ARC copy of Wings back in August/September of 2011 and Courtney didn't reveal her playlist yet so I just went with the Angelfire playlist.

The number one song that always brings me right back to Wellie is:

30 Seconds to Mars - Alibi

This song and the Angelfire series go together like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I listened to it for a majority of both books, especially during the sad moments, but there is one chapter in both books that fit perfectly with this song. Now when I say "fit", I don't necessarily mean lyric wise, not for this song anyway, although it sort of could fit for the lyrics. In Angelfire, this song was blasting loudly through my ipod during Chapter 28 and I won't say why because it's another one of those things that I just can't really put into words. In Wings of the Wicked, this song couldn't have been more perfect for Chapter 17. Man, just thinking back to it makes me all happy and giddy and squirmy. I should also state that these chapters were one of my favorites from both books.

For this next song, I didn't listen to it when I read Angelfire or Wings of the Wicked but right after I turned the last page of Wings of the Wicked, it hit me that this next song is totally perfect for Ellie.

Mariah McManus - Unarmed

I couldn't find a video with lyrics so I'll post a few here.

I love her voice and I could just picture every single word flowing out of Ellie's mouth. I especially love the first verse and the chorus is just spot on...well, I think so anyway. So, what do you guys think of it? The lyrics? Do you think this song fits? :) Also, this is the song that I added to the playlist. I showed it to Courtney and she agrees that it's so Ellie, as well.

This third song I listened to a lot during the sad, melancholy scenes as well.

Angus & Julia Stone - Draw Your Swords

The first verse into the chorus is perfect for Will. <333 If Will was saying, "The only one" with all that angst and passion, I wouldn't question it for one second! Na-uh, not me!
These next three songs I listened to a lot when Ellie was doing her thang and killing all those gruesome reapers. First up,
We Are The Fallen - Through Hell

A few reasons why I absolutely love this song: 1.) The lyrics describe Ellie and everything that's happening to her in both Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked perfectly, 2.) It's totally kick-ass, and 3.) It's perfect for when Ellie's kicking the poop out of those scary reapers! Also, how freakin' awesome is this video?! I loved the pictures, especially the last one! WOW.
The next song is just as awesome!
Firelight - Unbreakable

Right when I get to a scene where Ellie and Will are in the middle of a fight with reapers, I immediately switch the song to this one. In the beginning of both Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked, you're thrown straight into a fight, and this song is great to open with. Also, the lyrics - TOTALLY ELLIE when she's like...in her Preliator state of mind.
The third song is:
Red - Breathe Into Me

Lyric wise this song probably doesn't really have that much to do with the books (I think) but the music is perfect and I'm totally head-banging when I put this one on and Ellie and Will are chompin' up people with their uber awesome swords.
This last song that I'll be sharing with you guys is a song that I feel captures the essence of the Angelfire series, overall.
Torus - Wraith (Dubstep)

This song is just music, no singing but I feel that the beat and overall feel of this song captures everything...sorta, about the Angelfire series. I have a story to share with all of you about this song and my sisters. When Courtney first shared this song, I immediately agreed that it was perfect for the books and afterwards, I kept listening to it nonstop. Then I posted the song on facebook and one of my sisters listened to it then she told me that it was a scary song. *gasp* She also told my other sister to listen to it to get her point across and all that weird stuff. I guess it's sorta understandable because they don't read and when they do, they get scared easily...so whatever, this song rocks and that's that! ;)

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 8

Will was sitting on my bed when I got to my room. He'd discarded his long-sleeved shirt and had on just his jeans and T-shirt. He looked up as I entered, and our eyes met for a moment. I sat down to his right side on the bed and reached up a hand to smooth out his disheveled hair, and my eyes fell to the silver chain around his neck. The chain slipped between my fingers, and I drew the crucifix out the collar of his shirt. My fingers brushed the silver against his chest, the fondness of my memories of it pressing down on my heart, and my gaze moved to his tattoos. My hand slid across his skin to trace the delicate swirls of ink down his neck and arm. The muscle beneath his skin rippled at my touch, and he watched me in silence. My finger followed each intricate link of ink, and as the memory came, the sadness in my heart sank into my stomach. I realized now that this was the old angelic language I'd forgotten long ago, and it was my true name tattooed down his arm. I brushed my fingertips across the script, and he trembled and took a deep breath.

I was going to share the whole page....but the line right after the last sentence was sorta spoilery but man oh man, do I love this scene like crazy or what?! This scene, without a doubt, has got to be my most favorite out of Wings of the Wicked. After everything that happened, the tension and turmoil rolling around within these few pages were crazy so when this scene happened, I fell even more in love with Wings and Courtney - for being such an awesome genius.

Lucia on Angelfire: It's time for my favorite and very swoon-worthy character. Oh, Will. *swoons* He's usually hidden under an I'm-your-guardian-and-therefore-you-are-my-responsibility-and-nothing-more shell, but sometimes, sometimes, his emotions poke out. And O.M.G. Every time that happens, my heart just breaks. Shatters. Into a million little pieces. He's so beautiful. (Picture a thousand little hearts floating around my head like those anime characters. With a lot of glitter.) His complete devotion to Ellie... my heart's breaking again. | Overall, I really enjoyed the story. Hilarious narration, good writing style, and of course, the perfect male hero. Fans of The Mortal Instruments or any angel-related novel would enjoy this one. It's fast-paced, action and romance filled, and also has some dark moments. Great debut from Courtney Allison Moulton. I absolutely cannot wait for Wings of the Wicked and more.

REASONS WHY I LOVE ANGELFIRE

#1: Ellie is hilarious.

I cried out and my chair slipped out from under me. The racket echoed through the classroom as my butt hit the floor and the chair crashed.
Everyone around me was silent, too shocked to laugh, but I didn't dare look up. My entire body flushed with heat.
Oh God, oh God... Both my hands covered my face as I sat on the floor, absolutely mortified.
"Holy crap, Ellie, are you okay?" asked my table partner.
I looked up to see his face peering down at me. "The chair... it slipped."

#2: She's also really smart.

[Ellie] "I thought you were going to punch that guy."
"If he touched you, I would've."
I blinked in surprise. "Well, he didn't."
He huffed. "Good."
I tried not to laugh. Landon had been my friend since the sixth grade, but he was a boy, and boys made no sense to me.

#3: She could seriously be my best friend.

After my mom had organized the purchase and we were ready to head home, I hopped into the driver's seat of my birthday present. The interior was wrapped in smooth, cool leather and I let myself sink into it.
Mom dipped her head to smile at me through the driver's-side window.
"I'm going to name him Marshmallow," I announced.
My mom raised an eyebrow. "Marshmallow?"
"Yes, and he loves it."

#4: One word: badass. (Wait, is that one word, or two? Or a hyphenated one?)

I grabbed one of my swords and charged. The reaper saw me coming and threw her paw into my face, snapping my head to the side. I ground my teeth bitterly, reeled my arm back, and pounded my fist into her jaw as hard as I could. Instead of just breaking again, her jaw flung free from her skull and skidded across the pavement in a spray of blood.
Another reaper came out of nowhere. It sprang from the shadows at my left, its fangs a flash of white in the dark, but Will swept his own sword through the air between us, stopping my breath. His giant blade sliced through the reaper's neck, sending its head spiraling high over me as it hardened to stone. The head and body hit the pavement and smashed into a thousand stony pieces.
I spun back around as the first reaper reared onto her hind legs, swinging her head in a rage, and I slammed my sword through her ribcage. As the fiery blade struck her heart, she crumpled to all fours. She wheezed and gagged just before her shuddering body erupted into flames and she was gone forever.

#5: This book has those "awwww" sad moments.

The pink music box my dad had given me when I was seven sat between a pair of scented candles and a birthday card my grandmother had sent me earlier in the week. I got up, walked to my dresser, and lifted the top of the music box. The little plastic ballerina inside unfolded and stood. I lifted the box and turned the key on the bottom. Delicate music began to play, and the ballerina turned slowly. I watched her dance for a few moments, wondering how my life had gotten this way, how my dad had turned into such a hateful person. I loved that music box, now mostly because it reminded me of the wonderful father the man downstairs used to be. I'd have given anything to turn back the clock on the last ten years of my life- and that wasn't something someone my age should have to feel.

#6: Nerds.

"Nathaniel is in charge of the rare books here," Will explained.
"Correct," Nathaniel added. "I can basically bring in any books I want and keep them here. I have a few volumes documenting reapers throughout history. I'm also a collector of antiquities, and that's how I make my money, since I only volunteer here. I like old things, probably because I am very old myself. You'd be surprised how lucrative it is to buy a few ugly paintings and sell them to billionaires a hundred years later. Tens of millions of dollars for an original Picasso are nothing to sneeze at."

#7: Kick-butt nerds.

Nathaniel grabbed it, spun around, pumped the shotgun once, and blasted Ivar square in the chest, knocking her back a few steps.

#8: Will.

I nodded and took a deep breath. "You'd better take off. I don't think it would be a good idea to walk back with ripped-up clothes and you with me. It might look bad."
"Good thinking," he said. "I'll be close."
"Thanks, Will."
He touched my shoulder. "You still look beautiful in your dress."
When I turned to face him, he was gone. Again.

#9: More Will.

Will sat in a chair against the wall with an acoustic guitar in his hands. I studied the way his hands moved quickly, fluid and precise like ripples on water, the muscles in his arms tight and defined. The way his head bobbed and his foot tapped the floor with the beat captivated me. I recognized the song, though I couldn't quite place it. But the name of the song didn't really matter. I was entranced. It was kind of sexy watching him play. Sexy and beautiful, like every other aspect of him.

#10: Oh, Will...

He dropped his hand to mine, his body so close to mine I could hardly stand it. "If we're separated-if I lose you-I'll find you," he breathed, his cheek touching mine gently, lighting tiny fireworks on my skin.

And there you have it! Reasons why I love Angelfire. I hoped you enjoyed all those excerpts... especially the Will ones... Oh, sigh.

Okay, so last night I was creepin' on the twittah and I saw a retweet by Jodi Meadows where someone had tweeted her and told her that their...B&N (I think) had copies of Incarnate out early. I got excited and thought that maybe my B&N might have copies of Wings of the Wicked and Incarnate out early so I immediately wanted to go right then...but sadly, I didn't have a ride to my B&N (which is only like five minutes away and if I was desperate enough, I could have walked).

So, this morning I got up around eight and my sister was doing her laundry and then we had to run to Wal-mart and.....fast forward this part of my story. After we left Wal-mart, I told my sister to drop by B&N because I really wanted to check. I'm never on my B&N's ass about their books and stuff so I didn't have much hope that they would have the books out early but I was telling my sister that the shipment of books for Wings of the Wicked and Incarnate were probably there already and if they weren't out, sitting on the shelves, they would be sitting in the back of the store...or something.

We were so early that I didn't think B&N opened yet so I had my sister drive right up to the door so I could see the store hours and they opened from 9am-10pm. I looked at the clock and it said 9:11 (but the clock is set five minutes ahead). My sister parked and then we went inside...and I'm pretty sure we were the first customers of the day. We were greeted by one of the employees who kindly said good morning to us and to my right, on one of the stands, I saw copies of Everneath then I pointed and said to my sister, "Ah, I gotta come back and get that one too!"

We walked towards the YA section and before I could even walk down the aisle, I saw Incarnate sitting there on the shelf. I ran up to it and touched the cover ever so lightly, adrenaline shooting through me. Then I looked down the aisle and there it was, Wings of the Wicked filled completely to the edge of the shelf, almost falling over. I ran to stand right in front of the book, looking at it in disbelief then I started clapping like a dolphin, shrieking, "IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! THEY HAVE IT!" My sister came down the aisle saying, "You. Look. So. Scary." Then I hit her a few times because I was so freakin' ecstatic. After I was for sure that the copies were there and my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, I walked around the shelf to the other side just to get a look at all the awesome books sitting there.

My sister started rushing me and I had to just keep looking at Incarnate and Wings sitting there because it made me so happy. I counted how many copies were out and they had four copies of Incarnate and eight copies of Wings of the Wicked. :)

Needless to say, purchasing those two books most definitely made my weekend...if only I went and checked last night but better late than never, eh?

He was wearing a white mask that concealed half his face like the Phantom of the Opera. The half of his face I could see was breathtaking. I had never seen any boy so beautiful. His pale gold hair was combed neatly back with only a few escaping wisps, and he wore a black tuxedo beneath a cape.

His presence wrapped around me, electric and inviting, and he spun me around the hall in a waltz that fit poorly with the music playing, but somehow he kept us in rhythm. Before I was aware of it, the music and commotion had sunk into a dull roar until I couldn't hear anything at all. I looked nowhere but up into his eyes, which were the most fiery opalescent hazel I had ever seen, practically inhuman. His dancing was like water, powerful and unyielding, yet fluid and smooth through every movement, like a river following its predetermined course.

"I'm Cadan," he replied.
"That's an unusual name," I noted absently.
"It's a very, very old one." The backs of his fingers traced along my collarbone. I shivered.

"What are you doing here?" Will demanded, his voice subzero cold, frightening even me.
"I only wanted to meet her," Cadan said. "I had to get a look at the girl who's been rustling everyone's feathers so much lately. She seems to be the object of Ragnuk's obsession, not to mention Bastian's. Can you blame me for my curiosity?"

"She's a lovely thing," Cadan said, still as stone, his chin up, his eyes locked on Will's. "I see why you keep her so close. You wouldn't ant anyone like me sweeping her off her feet, would you?"

The next instant Will's sword sliced through the air between us and halted, poised right between Cadan's eyes....."One more step and I turn your face into a doughnut."
Cadan stared wide-eyed down the blade. "Pretty sure that sword would turn my face into two pieces, if you want to get technical."

Jaime on Angelfire: First, I loved this book!! It was a little slow going in the beginning but as the book progressed I could not stop reading. Courtney has created a world where reapers are beasts like bears and wolves and they eat people to send them to the underworld. There are also reapers that come in human form called Vir; I would say more but I don't want to spoil the book.

The characters of Ellie and Will are so strongly written. Ellie is a badass and Will fights right along with her. One thing I can say about this book was I was very happy there was no love triangle. There was another boy but Ellie's focus was always on Will.

Jaime on Wings of the Wicked: The story continues with so much action that you’re sitting on the edge of your seat as soon as you open the book! Bastian is back along with some horrifying reapers and some very big surprises. I’m pretty sure I said “Oh Crap” a few times and also cried. Answers will be answered but more questions arise. Some pretty terrible stuff happens in this book and the ending will leave you shaking your fist at Miss Moulton because it’s one hell of a cliffhanger! This is a must buy if you loved Angelfire and if you haven’t read it buy them both!!!

Why I love Cadan….

Yes we all know he’s smoking hot but there’s more to Cadan than that. Being that he is a Demonic Vir you’d expect him to be a bad guy and I’m sure he has been but, he also has a soft side. For those of you who get to read Wings of the Wicked soon if you didn’t love Cadan before trust me in this book you will! What I love about Cadan is he isn’t afraid to live; he isn’t stoic like Will. He has quick wit and a sarcastic side I absolutely adore and he isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

“She’s a lovely thing.” Cadan said, still as stone, his chin up, his eyes locked on Will’s. “I see why you kept her so close. You wouldn’t want anyone like me sweeping her off her feet, would you?”

But he also has a very protective and loving side too…

“I’m sorry for what he has done to you,” Cadan said. “For everything he’s done to you. I’m not sure if I’m strong enough to kill him, but for you, I’d try.”

I leaned into him. I understood what it felt like to be something frightening and try to maintain some shred of humanity. Will fought the same kind of darkness that threatened to destroy who I really was, the darkness that threatened to destroy him and take him away from me. We both waged internal wars against the monsters inside us. It made us dangerous to everyone around us, and to each other. I'd been so busy worrying about fighting the scary side of me that I'd forgotten he was doing the same. He was always thinking of me and what I needed, and I never thought about what he needed.

"What's wrong, Ellie? Tell me how I can fix this."

My breath trembled as I drew it in and I pressed my face deeper into his chest. "I thought he had killed you."

He exhaled and kissed my hair.

"I thought I was going to lose you," I confessed, biting back a sob that threatened to break free.

Will pulled away so that our eyes met. The centuries we had spent together were filling my heart with so much emotion that I felt it was about to burst. I didn't remember any of it, but I knew it all in my soul.

"You'll never lose me," he said gently, and wiped the tears from my cheeks. "I'll always be here."

I wrapped my arms around his back and held him as tightly as I could, afraid he'd drift away.

He dropped his head to mind, his body so close to mine I could hardly stand it. "It we're separated - if I lose you - I'll find you," he breathed, his cheek touching mine gently, lighting tiny fireworks on my skin.

I love the little details that one might miss, for example: "I wrapped my arms around his back and held him as tightly as I could, afraid he'd drift away." I don't know, I just love that; the whole "...afraid he'd drift away." Sigh. :) I read it and then I cling onto the description for a long while before I move on, lol. I don't know...those things just get to me, haha. Also, lines such as: "...he breathed, his cheek touching mine gently, lighting tiny fireworks on my skin." Lighting tiny fireworks on my skin. <3333 Man, what words can do to one's soul.

Amanda on Angelfire: I really LOVED this book, it had so much action, with all the fighting scenes. This awesome book was just awesome. I couldn't put it down! Oh, Will was just a gentlemen with a sexy smile. I also have him Tuesdays and weekends (Mocha) hehe. I want my own Will.

I absolutely loved this book because it had action, romance, and much, much more! Moulton’s characters Ellie, Will (HOT), Cadan (also hot) play this great role in trying to help Ellie recover her memory of her past lives, as a hunter. Ellie and Will are awesome heroes because they can rely on each other during these hunts. After reading Angelfire, I needed the next book!! I am waiting for it to come out, and that ending left me wanting more. Wings of the Wicked comes out on January 31, 2012. My favorite character would be Ellie because in my mind while reading Angelfire, I can picture all the things Moulton was envisioning. Ellie was fun, courageous, strong and is easy to get along with. She gets to team up with Will!! OMG, Will is one of the most secretive/hot male character ever! If you haven’t read Angelfire I recommend you do because it is awesome, and Courtney Allison Moulton is one talented writer (wishes to read Wings). Be sure to check out this series, it will not disappoint you in writing, characters, plot and soo many hot new characters that you must know!! Cant wait to meet new characters in her upcoming novel!!!

I caught a glimpse of Will out the corner of my eye. He was doubled over with one hand on the wall to hold himself up, his eyes squeezed tight and mouth open in physical agony—as if someone had slammed him in the chest with a hammer. I stopped in the crowd, staring at him as he struggled to right himself, Ava’s hand on his back, her expression full of worry. But he pushed her away and forced himself to stand tall as he searched wildly over the heads of my friends and classmates, looking for me. Then he barreled through the crowd, spinning and turning in every direction, calling my name in a fearful voice. I studied him, perplexed, and the truth of what I’d just witnessed hit me like a truck. He always knew when I was upset or in pain. Our bond, the magic that I put into his tattoos binding him to me, our bond that allowed him to know what I was feeling… He always knew I was in pain because my pain caused him to hurt. The agony I felt at that moment spilled into him, making him feel through pain what I felt emotionally. I did that to him. I caused him pain. I was cancer, a disease on everyone who knew and loved me.

Every time I reach the edge of fangirling for this book, I become a huge mess and my brain gets taken over with incoherent thoughts, just words flying at me, words such as: swoon, green eyes, LOVE, swords, blood, pain, wings, WIIIIIIIILLL <333, heart-pounding, agony, fear, like, love, like, love, like, love, love, love, love, love, love, craziness, what the mutha flippin' eff, epicness. From all the blog posts this week, it's not a big surprise that I am truly, madly, and deeply in love with Courtney's Angelfire series and like I said, I can't put into words just how much I love these books and by now, you guys are probably like:

Melody on Angelfire: I have never read a book with angels and reapers in it can you believe that? Well I haven't until now but I'm so glad I did because I definitely enjoyed reading Angelfire. Angelfire is definitely a killer book with killer characters, crazy romance and packed full of action. While you're reading Angelfire you'll never know what's going to happen and I just love that!

The characters in this book are all really lovable especially Will! Will is one of those characters that will make you wish he was real because he's super kind, sweet and caring towards Ellie. Will's not just super kind, sweet and caring towards Ellie because he's her guardian; it's that he actually does care about her which makes him extremely swoon-worthy. Whenever Ellie needs him he'll be there and if he's surrounded by a bunch of reapers he'll find a way to get back to her, which is once again super swoon-worthly. Ellie is one strong heroine, fighting/being hunt down by reapers that want to destroy her soul at night and trying to be a regular teenage girl during the day, so let's face it if that were me I wouldn't be as strong and as brave as Ellie because I doubt being hunted down by reapers that want to destroy your soul is very fun and entertaining. Now on to Cadan, who is the bad boy yet he's really sweet, there's just one scene with Cadan and Ellie that will make you swoon and I really hope in Wings of the Wicked we'll be seeing more of him because I would love to learn more about him.

Over all I really enjoyed reading Angelfire and I cannot wait till Wings of the Wicked is released which is less than a week now and I'm so EXCITED! I would really recommend this to anyone who loves action and romance because Angelfire definitely has that! And now would be the perfect time to read Angelfire because you won't have to wait for book 2, Wings Of The Wicked!!!

Hey, it's Melody from Mid winter Reviews and today I'll be sharing one of my favorite scenes from Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton and my review.

I bit my lip to keep from grimacing as something popped inside me, trying uselessly to heal. "I'm all right." Will's eyes flashed brightly as he cupped my face with both hands, smoothing my hair back, examining for damage. He knew. He hadn't found the wound yet but it was there. "You're hurt where? Please let me help you. Where is it?" As his heart broke in front of me, tears slid down my cheeks as I pulled away, refusing to let him see. I didn't want it to be real for him. Not again. The sudden movement caused me to cry out and double over. Will screamed my name and fell over me, throwing his sword away and pulling me close to him as my knees hit the ground. Red drenched my dress and pooled around me, soaking the dress with darkness like a pit leading to hell.

This is one of my favorite scenes because I think it's really sweet and sad. And for some strange reason I like sad scenes, plus it's a bonus that this is a scene between Will and Ellie from her past life which we don't get much insight on.

Side note: Sad scenes are one of my favorite because it makes you actually feel something like what the characters are feeling and I just love that feeling you get, when your feeling what they feel.

He said nothing but only stared at Cadan. Will's eyes glowed bright green, and even in the dark hall I could see his power humming furiously around him. Cadan rose to his feet, cupping this jaw - laughing. I would have bet everything I owned that Will's punch should have crushed every bone in Cadan's face. How was he even alive?

Unless he wasn't human.

Oooo, a sneak peak at the oh-so-famous Cadan! :) He's something, I tell you! In Angelfire, all we know is that Will isn't his biggest fan, at all. But after I finished reading Wings of the Wicked, I couldn't help but fall for him a teeny, tiny bit. He's definitely a character that grows on you and after seeing more and more of him, you just won't be able to resist. He's charming, witty, comical, caring, and he's got a little edge to him that just makes him fun and carefree.

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, Courtney shared with all of us, Cadan's theme song for Wings of the Wicked and after reading the book and finally listening to his song, I couldn't help but think:

Sam on Angelfire: Okay, Ellie first! She is one tough cookie! She has the world thrown at her and she doesn't crack! Ellie is one of those people you wish to be. Someone who is strong and has all the power in the world, but doesn't let it get to her head. She still cares about the people around her and about keeping everyone safe. Even her own Guardian angel, Will.

Speaking of Will.. Sighh...Will! He is one sexy beast! :) He would give his life up for Ellie's in a heartbeat. He is strong and powerful, and he is faithful. I want a Will. He stands by Ellie no matter what, and will never give up on her. And I repeat, I want a Will.

Hey everyone! Hopefully, as you know Wings of the Wicked comes out January 31st, and in honor of that, Momo came up with this great idea to do a mini blog tour just on her blog! I loved Angelfire so I jumped at the chance to be apart of this! Luckily I was chosen and here we are now!

So I have a few pieces of jewelry that are really important to me. They were all given to me by various family members and I love them dearly.

Two of them are rings that my Mom gave me. Another is a Pandora charm bracelet that my grandmother gave me, and the other is a Shama necklace that was given to my brother that I gladly took because he doesn't wear necklaces!

If you have read Angelfire, then you know that Ellie has a wing necklace that was hers from way back when. I am happy to show you some of my favorites that I found when I googled winged necklaces! :)

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 3

If the chains weren’t so tight around my arms, I’d have punched his face so hard those shark teeth would shoot out the back of his head. I jerked against the metal to their limits, but halted brutally with Geir’s throat just out of reach. I was too weakened to break free of the chains and of the angelic spell cast into the pentagram drawn on the ground around me. My body would heal and then they would begin again, tearing me up until I was near death only to let me heal so they could start all over. I didn’t know how long I’d been in this barn. I didn't know if it was night or day. And I didn’t know if she was still alive.

I had to return to her. The reaper struck my face and blood ran over my eyes. I had to return to her.

Today's quote is from the gorgeous Will. If you purchase a copy of the Angelfire paperback, you'll get a snippet from his point of view along with a ton of extras! And look at those green eyes - uuuunnnnfff! So, have any of you picked up a copy of Angelfire yet?! If you have, how are you enjoying it thus far?! And if you haven't, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! You're crazy. Seriously. ;)

Courtney most definitely out did herself in Wings of the Wicked! I know that it's not the last book in the series but it is the most recent and already, it's my most favorite of the series! Why?! I don't even know...like I really don't. Something about Wellie's relationship in Wings just did something to me; I really can't put into words the turmoil, the heartache, the forbidden-ness, the little moments, the passion, the want, the need, just...sigh - everything threw me into overdrive and I was hooked, am hooked! I just can't get over it. You might read it and think, "Umm...it's just an alright book. I don't know what the heck she was thinking." And that's all good, you're entitled to how you feel, but to me, the Angelfire series is most definitely, hands down, one of my most favorite series, like it's up there in the top five! Anyway, I could go on and on and on and on about Angelfire, Ellie, Will, Cadan, the reapers, etc. but until you read it....we're not friends. ;)

Savy on Angelfire: One thing I love about books is the idea of them. I love to read books where it present a unique idea or theme. Angelfire is a unique book. With the idea of reapers, angels, and reincarnations, Ms. Moulton certainly gave the literature world a great adventure.The minute I started this book, it one was that I knew I could not put down.

Savy on Wings of the Wicked: OMG! This book is dynamic. A one of kind adventure that you can never put down! I LOVED IT!!!! Let me catch my breath and re-collect my thoughts cause I will talk your ear off if I don't. Okay. First off the plot. It was AMAZING! Filled with so many twists and turn I think I got a creak in my neck. Geez! The book took off where it left off in the first book and just exploded in your head. There is nothing that could make me put this book down. Once I started, I was done for. Forever trapped in a world created by brillance!

There are some more insights on characters that were introduced in the last book and WOW! Major secrets, lies and so many juicy stuff exposed that it made my heart race faster. I love that Ms. Moulton's world never let you down. There is so much action, fight, and love that it is nearly impossible to put away.

When I got my hands on Angelfire I loved it. I read through the book so fast that I needed the next book ASAP. Not only is Ms. Moulton's writing exceptional, but the guys are HOT! Now, if you have not read Angelfire or Wings of the Wicked, let me introduce to you the two guys that you must know. First there is Will, Ellie's hot guardian, who I can't stop drooling over.

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 2

Being grounded, however, didn't stop me from sneaking out the back door of my house at night so that Will and I could patrol for reapers. We either trained or hunted every night, and I was getting better. I learned to strike for the head or the heart to bring the reapers down quickly and avoid getting injured as much as possible. Will worked with me patiently and tirelessly, and my memory was returning little by little. It was a constant comfort to know he was always there somewhere, completely in tune with me. I knew he had the strength to protect me, even if I didn't know I had the strength to protect myself.

How are you guys enjoying the posts?! Is your anticipation building more and more each day?! In exactly one week from today, Wings of the Wicked will be on bookshelves - store bookshelves and home bookshelves, lol! I want every version available! I haven't purchased my paperback copy of Angelfire yet because I'm waiting to order signed, personalized copies of both the paperback copy of Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked from CAM's local indie when Wings of the Wicked releases so I can just do it all at once. I'm also planning on purchasing the German copy. And now is probably where you'd look at me like:

What can I say about Angelfire?

Besides the usual gushing about how AMAZING it is!

Honestly, I loved this book! I read it early in 2011 and it remained a favorite of mine throughout the year. It's no wonder I recommended it in almost all of my Top Ten Lists!!

Here's my review:

Books like these are the reason I read!! This is yet another amazing addition to the list of truly epic books I've read this year. It had EVERYTHING I could ever want a book to have! The action scenes were so detailed I could almost picture them in 3D! lol! The hints of romance practically had me swooning!! I literally fell for these characters along with them. I could feel Will's pain..I was annoyed along with Ellie! I was with them every step of the way! Their conversations felt so real at times I kept thinking..I would so say that! And the questions...yup I had my fair share of questions. The story keeps you questioning all the way through! The best part....my questions were answered!!! And I loved those answers too! This book could not have ended in a better way. I wouldn't change a thing! I knew what was coming in the end..and I agreed with it whole heartedly...it had to be done. But I along with Ellie still hope! lol! I can't wait for the next book!! Honestly...I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! 5 epic stars for me if not more..if I could I'd give it 10!

I stared out the classroom window and longed for freedom, wanting to be anywhere in the world other than gaping up at my economics teacher like the rest of my classmates. The last time I had listened to him, Mr. Meyer had been lecturing about fiscal policy, and that was when he'd lost me. My eyes rolled over to my best friend, Kate Green, who was doodling intricate flowers all over her notes and looked like she was thoroughly entertaining herself. Meanwhile, I was reduced to staring at the wiry, gray chest hair puffing out at the collar of Mr. Meyer's polo shirt like overgrown steel wool and wondering whether he'd ever considered waxing.

Today is the first day in the countdown...well, yesterday was the first day but today kicks off all the bloggers's guest posts! Each day, I'll be featuring a quote from Angelfire, a little snippet of the blogger's review of Angelfire and/or Wings of the Wicked and then I'll post the blogger's guest post! Some of the posts might get lengthy but I promise you, they're good stuff! :)

For today's first guest post, I'll be featuing Loni Flowers. She and I are huge fans of this series and when I planned my mini Wings of the Wicked blog tour, it was all thanks to her because she pushed me to do it...not in a bad way, but she brought up the idea and so she was the first person I sent my copy to. When she was reading it, we were constantly tweeting/dming each other and fangirling over every freakin' line! LOL, needless to say, we abso-freakin'-lutely love Angelfire, Will, Ellie, Cadan, and Courtney oh-so-very much!

Loni on Angelfire: Courtney Moulton’s debut novel, Angelfire had everything I wanted in a paranormal romance and so much more. It has a wonderful blend of action with detailed fighting scenes and just the right amount of sweet, tender, romantic moments that had me eagerly wanting more. The plot is fast paced and extremely descriptive. Moulton did an amazing job at world building and even though there is a lot to take in, she breaks it up at just the right pace; mixing in detailed dialogue and kick ass fighting scenes!

Pull me in!

For me, there are many stories out there that are good. I read and read and read, and when I finally turn to the last page, I think, "Well, that was really good." But what's one of the most important aspects that really make a great story? For me it's the pull-me-in effect. I want to be there. I want to be that little pesky fly on the wall that sees and hears everything, and for the most part, that is easy for me to accomplish. I'm an easy reader. I enjoy most everything I read and I'm not really that analytically. I'm able to drown out what's going on around and see more than just the ink on the page. I see the world that has been created for me. But let me go a step further. Not only do I want to be that pesky little fly, I want to really feel like I'm there. I want to get so caught up in the story and what's happening around me, that I gasp when something happens, I jump when the character jumps, or I hear the whispered conversation happening just in the other room, just like they do.

What I 'm trying to say is, for me, that is what makes a good story a great one. I don't want to be just along for the ride, I want to be in part of the adventure. Courtney Allison Moulton achieved this for me with Angelfire. I was amazed at the world she created. When the story ended, I didn't know how or what I had to do to get my hands on the next book, I just knew I wanted it! I whined on Twitter and to my friends about having to wait. I shoved my book in their faces and forced them to read it, willing them to love it as much as I did. That is what happens to me when I read a great book. But then time passes and slowly, I find myself not obsessing over it… until the next crazed person I find starts raving about it… and then I'm back to my obsessed self again for a few weeks. It's a never ending cycle.

I had the fortunate opportunity to read Wings of the Wicked late last year when Momo so graciously offered up her advanced copy to me. (I may or may not have left early from work on my lunch break, just to rescue if off my front porch and hold it in my hands to gaze at the pretty, pretty cover. Nope, I didn't do that at all.) So that night, I read Wings of the Wicked. I was sucked in. I was no longer the fly on the wall, but a bystander, watching and hearing, feeling everything unfold around me. Will made me fall in love with him all over again. I grew to love unexpected characters, and I found friends in new characters. I sobbed at the fallen. I was swept into another world. At times, I would have swore I heard the same noises around me, felt the vibration of the counter beneath my hands when Will slammed his fist down onto it when he was mad at me… I mean Ellie.

That, my friends, is what I believe to be a great story. If you can take me there, and I can really see what they see… then you've won me over and you’ve done the story justice.

After reading Wings, I felt compelled to email Courtney. She had to know just how powerful her writing and descriptions were. I told her a more condensed version of what I said above and she was extremely grateful. Though my email was gushing, she inspired me to tell great stories in as much detail and feeling as she can. Courtney gave me thanks and words of encouragement about my own writing. It's an email that I will keep forever, stuck between the pages of my Angelfire copy.

If I had to say that I gave Angelfire a million star rating—Wings of the Wicked received a billon star rating. That's how much I love this story. It will be a long, dreary year waiting for book three.

As most of you know, I am the biggest fan of Courtney Allison Moulton's Angelfire series so with that said, I have planned this sorta blog tour/guest post thingy that will take place from Monday, January 23rd until Friday, February 3rd where I will be featuring multiple bloggers who have written up a guest post about something related to the Angelfire series. I have titled it Squishy Blood Crack for Reapers because all this raving and praising for the series will basically be like crack to the reapers! ;) Drugs that will just keep 'em high and feelin' good! LOL
This is all in honor of Wings of the Wicked's release which is on Tuesday, January 31st! Aaaah, this is the part where I freak out and get all excited because finally - FINALLY - people will get to read this book of amazingness! Like seriously! I don't know what CAM did in this book, some witchy ju-ju thing probably, because I'm very crazily obsessed with this book! A Penny For Your Thoughts (1): Time Frame

Sometimes on twitter, I get what I call word vomit...or something like that. I describe it as this urge to just tweet whatever comes to mind and that's really bad because I should really pause before I post but that never happens. Any who, most of my tweeting happens from my lame-o phone and some days, when I'm laying on my bed after an excruciating day from school, I just lay there and then the floodgates to my brain pour open and I get all tweet explosive and it's...word vomit, lol.

For a while now, I contemplated doing sporadic blog posts where I throw out a question that has me curious as to what and/or how others respond but because the twittah is more instantaneous, I usually throw the question out there. But now I figured, I could start doing blog posts here too. Sometimes, I'll be thinking about random stuff and then the wheels start turning and all of a sudden, I start to get really curious if it's just me that thinks like this or if other people are the same or what.

I'm not sure when, but a few days ago on the twittah, I posted this question, aka this week's

This question came to mind because I was thinking about myself. Oh em gee, how vain does that sound, lol. "...I was thinking about myself." Wow Momo, wow. I don't mean it like that. I was just thinking that for me, personally, after I finish an out-of-this-world novel, it takes quite a bit of time for me to gather my mind and everything before I start another book. At the least, it's a week and at the most...I don't even know.

It just had me thinking about the time frame for other people. For myself, I have to always give myself time off after I finish a breathtaking novel because if I don't I feel like I won't give the next book that I read, all of me - all of my attention. My sister and I used to joke about how after she finished The Iron Queen she started another book yet her mind kept fleeing back to Ash and we would have phone conversations where she would tell me that she felt like she was cheating on so-so of the current book she was reading with Ash. I mean, clearly there's something wrong with us because we feel like we're cheating on fictional characters....um yeah that's like a first class ticket to the psych ward. ;)

And I totally get what she means. After I finish a really, really, really good book, it usually takes me a while to get back on the reading track because after I finish that really good book, I'm left in a daze, walking around the house like a zombie and every time I blink, a scene from the book flashes behind my eyelids. When that happens, I can't just jump into another literary world because like my sister said, I will feel like I'm cheating not just on the characters but the world, the story line, the emotions, just...everything that that book had to offer.

I need time to absorb all the amazing-ness from the book, I need time to go back and re-read my most favorite lines and scenes, I need time to go back and just think about how everything worked out, and eventually this time builds into days and days into weeks. This here, is one of the reasons why I am such a slow reader but you know, I read like this before I started blogging, so why change now? Speaking of being a slow reader, I think all of you who graced this post with your beautiful eyes, should head on over to Rachel's blog post about being a slower reader.

So, what's your time frame? After you finish a book, do you pick up your next book an hour later? A day later? A few days later? A week? Two weeks? Have you ever felt like you were cheating on one book character with another? If so, who? :P And for myself, I don't mean a week as if it's always a week before I pick up my next book. Sometimes, if a book wasn't as stunning, I give myself a day before I pick up my next read. Sometimes if I just wasn't feeling a book, I give myself say... three days before my next read. But majority of the time, it's a week before I pick up my next book.

What makes Aiden St. Delphi the hottest stud around, you ask? Well, I turned to the twittah for some help and I asked:

His personality, his guitar pick collection, his confidence, his sexy, muscular biceps and triceps...and pretty much every muscular part of his body makes Aiden St. Delphi the mutha freakin' GOD of all the sexiest heroes! Eh, see what I did there?! ;)

Now as you probably noticed, I didn't include the eyes...because, well if you know me, eyes drive me insane. Good insane, of course and no one's eyes does that better than Aiden St. Delphi's. <3333 Like seriously, what kind of eyes are "thundcloud eyes?!" That's a storm all on its own! Everytime Alex mentions his eyes, I come close to death each time; no joke.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, what did I tell you.

Aiden St. Delphi is the sexiest hero evah because:

he's loyal which means he will do right by you
he doesn't push himself all over you
he will put you first before anything and everything else
he's almost, sorta like the broody, moody type of guy will is sexy all in its own league

and lastly,

he loves passionately and strongly and fiercely yet he has so much control that it drives the sexy meter straight through the roof

Because those two tweets sum up everything about Seth. He's a different sort of hero, meaning that he seems to be like the cocky, "I-don't-give-an-eff-about-anything" sort of guy yet, somewhere along the line he's been hurt...like really bad. And to me, those sort of guys make my heart ache so bad. I just wanna wrap them in my tiny embrace and hold onto them forevah. I'm not saying that's how Seth is exactly because we haven't seen much about him but from what we've read about him thus far, I've sorta come to that conclusion...ish.

But yes, Seth's quirkiness, charisma, attitude, remarks, etc. make him a very sexy hero because you just don't know what to expect from him. He'll definitely keep you on your toes! :) Plus, he's carefree and when you're wound up so tight you're close to exploding, Seth will be sure to help you have fun and just be!

Seth is the sexiest hero OF. ALL. TIME. because:

first of all, who doesn't love a guy who just goes with the flow of life?
his humor will most likely have you laughing your eyes out until you cry and develop a six-pack
he's fluent in Sarcasm, I mean, WIN right there
like Aiden, he'll do anything to make sure you're safe, alive, and breathing ;)

and lastly,

he's mysterious which keeps you wanting more no matter how hard you try to resist

Anywhoooooo, when I listen to songs, I'm overly tuned into the person's voice...especially when it's a guy artist and this song....man, his voice just does something to me. <333 It might not to you...but I'll let cha be the judge of that!

Thousand Foot Krutch - Breathe You In

Okay, so what I meant about the guy's voice and stuff, go back (because I'm assuming you listened to it once already) and take another listen and when the first two verses come on, oh humananah! It's just sooooOOoooOoooOooo incredibly sexy; his voice is like sex with two legs! ;)

If you couldn't tell where verse one and two starts, verse once starts at 0:20 to 0:39...around there and verse two starts at 1:42 to 1:48 ish. The second verse gives me chills every time. When he says, "I'm going in, so cover me..." Oh gosh, I'm so in love with this song!

Concealed Playlist

Concealed is written in first person narrative, so in order for me to write effectively, I have to obliterate Sang and become Bijou. It may sound crazy, but while I’m in writing mode I have to become her in order to view the world through her eyes. It makes me kind of crazy at times, and I’ve gotten so good at it that my own mom calls me Bijou at times, because she insists on talking to me when I write, even though I ask for solitude. Kinda crazy, but hella effective.

By now, a few of you have already read Concealed and know that Bijou is an empath, so she’s uber emotional…sometimes a total spazz as well. While writing, music helped made everything feel more intensely and it helped me become Bijou.

So, anyway, here are a few of the songs that helped bring Concealed to life. A few of the artists you may have never heard of because I listen to a lot of indie, underground, and/or international stuff. I promise they’re awesome. Give ‘em a listen and tell Momo what you think.

Top 3 Songs

#1. All a Lie- 78 Saab
Imagine discovering your life and everything you think you know is a complete and utter lie. This is the unending, heartbreaking predicament Bijou finds herself in, in Concealed. 78 Saab’s All a Lie sets the tone for Bijou’s emotional state of being whenever she makes a new discovery or gets a revelation. I would have to say, it best sets the tone for Chapter 7: Secrets and Lies, when Bijou discovers the red scrap book that has her real birth certificate as well as harsh realities about Gigi and who or what she may be. This song could really go along with just about any part of Concealed, because it just so happens that all of my characters are skilled liars. J 78 Saab is an Australian band and I’ve actually chatted with them a couple times on Twitter about Concealed. They’re totally cool!

#2. Come On and Go- Scout
On the morning of Bijou’s seventeenth birthday, she wakes up to find her bedroom covered in gifts with her grandmother sitting scarily in a rocking chair a la Norman Bates in the movie, Psycho. You would think she’s lucky, but there’s nothing fortunate about what her grandmother has to say. She tells her to run away as fast as she can and to never look back, because if they meet again she will not be held accountable for her own actions. In other words, she’ll kill her if she sees her again. Scout’s Come On and Go fits perfectly for this scene, because even though truths have been revealed, Bijou has known nothing and no one but her grandmother for her entire life and this moment just breaks her in every way possible. This happens in Chapter 25: A Head Start.

#3. Pageant of the Bizarre- Zero 7
There is nothing normal about Bijou. She sees the world and its inhabitants in an unusual way. She picks up on all the things normal people seem to miss or take for granted, and this is not usually a good thing, so what better song to describe her than Zero 7’s Pageant of the Bizarre. The song is unconditional in all respects…from the weird assortment of instruments used to the up and down vocals of Sia. The song kinda reminds me of the way Bijou mind works. It’s strange, disorderly, and unsuspectingly beautiful.

You know how I am a huge book/music person so it was probably no surprise that my guest post was music related, lol! I have not read Concealed yet but I'm totally saving this playlist so I can refer back to it once I pick up the book! So, which song(s) is your favorite from this playlist?!

When sixteen year-old Bijou Fitzroy and her nomadic grandmother leave New York City to live in a home in the sleepy town of Sykesville, Maryland, Bijou thinks she will finally be able to live a normal life and be like everyone else. This move will be permanent, and Bijou cannot be anymore thrilled. After years of being shut away by her grandmother, Bijou will finally able to interact with peers, make friends, go to school, and live like a normal teenager.

Moving around and being homeschooled definitely made it difficult to make friends, but there are other reasons for Bijou’s solitude. With eyes that constantly change from gray to green to a honey-coated shade of brown and an ability to feel exactly what other people are feeling, the concept of obtaining closeness is more of a fable than a reality. Although her eyes are beautiful, their constant shift in color instills a sense of fear within other people and causes them to look away. Bijou’s premonitions, blackouts, and semi-prophetic dreams of a faceless boy don’t help her social musings either. Regardless, she decides to attend the local high school.

Bijou is immediately introduced to Sebastian Sinjin, a quirky and unusually beautiful boy who doesn’t seem to belong in a high school in nowhere Maryland. Sebastian is also special. Instead of looking away from Bijou, he makes direct eye contact with her. And when he shakes Bijou’s hand something dark and familiar to awaken within her as an electric shock surges through her body. Bijou soon finds herself deeply attracted to Sebastian, who remains aloof and often acts like Bijou doesn’t exist.

Despite the pains of having her first real crush, Bijou makes friends quickly and excels in all of her classes…well, all except for Mythology with Mr. Jennings. Mr. Jennings’ class starts off great with endless discussions of djinn and how they conceal themselves from the human eye, but things soon take a turn for the worse when the stories of the mythical creatures begin to take shape in Bijou’s life.

ZOMBIES!

I don't know when it happened....oh wait, that's a lie. I know exactly when it happened. That specific Sunday when season two of The Walking Dead was going to come back on, my sister and I, being the no-life's that we are, watched all of season one together and ever since then...ZOMBIE LOVAH. And I ain't going back. So yeah, I'm uber stoked for this book! It's like...wicked creepy yet totally bizarre and amazingly awesome! I can't wait to read it!

She draws me closer and it's everything I can do not to sweep her into my arms and love her properly. Finally, she pulls away. I close my eyes and we stand with our foreheads pressed together. Neither of us move for a long minute, but, finally, I hear her start to breathe again.

BWAHA, it's very obvious as to why I chose this one! ;) Man oh man, I cannot believe this series has already come to its end. How am I going to live without no more Luc Cain?! WAAAAH.

Wow, it's been nearly a year since my last In My Mailbox - seriously! My last IMM was on February 2nd, 2011. In my last IMM blog post, I started doing vlogs and for some reason since then I stopped. Anywho, let's get to the present. These are the books I received since last Saturday - January 7th, 2012.

Since Saturday, I received a package(s) every day up until Wednesday. On Friday evening, I went to my B&N and purchased the Soul Screamers omnibus, Volume One for the Soul Screamers reading challenge! I also purchased Switched by Amanda Hocking because I have been wanting to read this series since forever and I absolutely love the new covers! They're so gorgeous! :)

And the most exciting package I received this week was from Lisa Desrochers! Right when I saw the package with her name on it, I knew right away what book was within! I couldn't tear through the package wrap fast enough! I am such a freakin' fangirl of this brilliant series! I'm a bit sad to see it end but I'm totally excited at the same time! I picked it up last night and I'm already two hundred pages in...waaah; almost done! Eeep!

Soul Screamers Reading Challenge

Okay, so when 2012 rolled around, I had told myself that I would not be participating in any reading challenges whatsoever because last year when I was new to blogging and totally excited about all things blogging, I signed up for a few...and then I didn't follow through with them. I mean, twelve months is a very long time to seriously be on track about all the books you read and for me, it sort of took away the pleasure of just reading for fun.

But here's one challenge I'm serious about doing because my awesome blogger pal, Rachel, over at Fiktshun.com, is dead crazy about this series. I'm not really even sure what the series is about but based on Rachel's raving and high praise, I'll definitely be giving it a shot. And the series already has five books out - gasp! - I love when there are a lot of books out in a series already because when I start it, I don't stop until they're all read and it's even better because I don't have to wait for the next book! HAHA!

Rachel made a blog post about all of the details for the reading challenge and...I just read it and...there's a lot of info that was covered so I'll just be linking you guys, you know, if you guys want to participate and all that good stuff!

Momo's Playlist (1): Missing You

Okay, so I think it's sort of obvious that it's a must for me to listen to music when I read. And I say must because I will not start a book until I have a song to listen to that sort of goes with the book. It doesn't even have to be a playlist of ten songs, 2-4 songs work just fine. I feel like listening to music intensifies everything and when combining that with books and the written word, oh man, my emotions are, for sure, going to be all over the place. ;)

Momo's Playlist will be a new feature here on Books Over Boys. It's not a meme or anything, just really a place for me to share my music with anyone that would like to take a listen and/or for anyone who has similar taste as myself. I was thinking and have decided that songs that I feature will not always tie back into books, although most of the time it will.

If any of you ~~stalk~~ follow me on the twittah, you would know that I have started City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Over this past weekend, I was so conflicted on whether to read that or Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I went back and forth between the two for the longest time and....eventually, City of Bones won because life right now is being a little *itch in the derriere and I really needed an escape. I wanted to escape and just jump into a literary world for as long as reading a book would allow. My mind really needed to be elsewhere and I figured that since there were a lot of books out in The Mortal Instruments series, I decided to go with City of Bones.

In the first chapter of City of Bones, Clary, the leading female, and her best friend, Simon, are waiting in line to enter this New York club called Pandemonium. As I laid there on my bed reading the first page of this chapter, this song immediately popped to mind and I thought that it would be perfect for this specific chapter.

Note: Majority of the time, songs I post/share, lyric wise, probably won't have anything to do with what's going on in the book.

Tara - Missing You

I thought this song fit perfectly for the opening of City of Bones because I could just imagine this song blaring from the speakers within Pandemonium as Clary and Simon waited in line to get inside the club.

I did not post the lyrics to this song because this song, specifically, I felt was important for it's beat and the music itself and like I said, the lyrics don't have anything to do with the scene from the book.

I am still reading City of Bones and hopefully I'll finish it up this weekend but if any of you have song suggestions for TMI series, please leave a comment and I will most definitely check it out and who knows, I might end up listening to it when I get to City of Ashes or City of Glass...or any of the other books in the series!

First of all, how about that gorge cover?! The fading in and out of the coloring around the title is amazing and I totally did not see the crow, I think that's a crow, right smack on the...basically on the whole cover. See, clearly I was all distracted by the colors of the title! :) The synopsis really reminds me of something along the lines of Avatar, lol! And that's not a bad thing - I love that movie to pieces!

Cover Reveal: Untouched by Jus Accardo

Two posts ago, I shared with all of you the amazing, in your face, cover to Toxic by Jus Accardo and today, I'll be sharing with all of you the fab cover to Untouched, which is a novella in Kale's point of view.

As of now, Untouched does not have a synopsis but its expected publication date will be on February 21st, 2012 from Entangled Publishing.

So anyway, zomg, look at those baby blues! I don't know what it is about the eyes but they just do something to me. LOVE! What do you guys think?! :)

CRESCENDO Paperback Blog Tour - Day 5

Today we are so excited to have a guest blog post from Becca Fitzpatrick sharing some behind-the-scenes facts about CRESCENDO.

Scott Parnell is loosely based on Becca’s brother, particularly his sense of fashion. Becca's brother owns a pink Hawaiian hat!

There’s a scene in CRESCENDO that really happened to Becca when she was a teen. She actually DID ask a boy to a dance by giving him a hot dog with a note that said, “Don’t be a Wiener, go to the dance with me.”

The dream sequences weren’t originally in CRESCENDO, but were added to help pass on necessary info to Nora and the reader, and to bring more Patch into the book. Some of these scenes actually ended up as favorite scenes for many readers. (cough) Steamy kissing scene in Nora’s bedroom (cough).

About 3/4 of CRESCENDO was deleted and completely re-written.

CRESCENDO was the most difficult book for Becca to write.

The prologue wasn't included in the original draft—Becca wrote it at her editor's request. And is glad she did!

The original cover for CRESCENDO had both Patch and Nora on it.

The CRESCENDO paperback was released this week and includes a first look at the upcoming 4th book which is releasing later this year. Be sure to check it out!

I absolutely heart the cover! The gal looks way fierce and it totally compliments book one...which has the guy on it. That makes me wonder...if both of them will be on the third cover. I totally think so! Or...hope so anyway! And look at that background! Like I said, I haven't read book one, so I'm totally wondering what the heck is up with all the rubble! Also, the yellow glow of the sky is gorgeous; looks awesome with the brown tint ish of the cover!
