Kat Caruso wishes her brain had a return policy, or at least a complaint hotline. The defective organ is constantly distracted, terrible at statistics, and absolutely flooded with inappropriate thoughts about her boyfriend's gorgeous best friend, Alec... who just so happens to be her brand-new math tutor. Who knew nerds could be so hot?
Kat usually goes through tutors like she does boyfriends—both always seem to bail when they realize how hopeless she is. It's safer for her heart to keep everyone at arm's length. But Alec is always stepping just a little too close.
Alec Stone should not be fantasizing about Kat. She's adorable, unbelievably witty, and completely off-limits. He'd never stab his best friend in the back...
But when secrets are revealed, the lines of loyalty are blurred. To make it count, Alec must learn that messy human emotions can't be solved like a trigonometry function. And Kat has to trust that he may be the first guy to want her for who she is, and not in spite of it.
Author interview with Megan Erickson:
Welcome back to Books Over Boys, Megan! It’s always a pleasure to have you on the blog! The last time you were here, we talked books, reading, and writing. This time, I figured we could go totally and completely random. What say you?
Q. Back in high school, what did you keep in your locker?
Books. Soccer cleats. Copies of the newspaper (I was on the staff). And maybe some loves notes from boys. ☺
Q. Do you like to pull your toilet paper from the top down or from the bottom up?
Q. What is the longest book you’ve ever read?
A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin was pretty huge. That might be the longest I’ve ever read!
Q. What is one song that you know all the lyrics to and can sing on the spot, like *snaps fingers* that?
Shoop by Salt ‘N’ Pepa
Q. If you were a Smurf, what would your name be?
Q. List three green items around you. (Say “three green” a couple times. Doesn’t it feel odd on the tongue? Or is that just me?)
Shirt, Plate, Bowl
Q. What is one TV show that you stop, drop, and roll for?
The O.C. I miss that show!
Q. Favorite alcoholic beverage?
Margarita. On the rocks. With salt.
Q. What is your favorite commercial? What commercial annoys you the most? (I had to ask because I actually have a most and least favorite, lol. Is that weird?)
OMG, the worst commercial is that one where the moms are spying on their sons’ dates. What is that for? Ugh, it’s creepy. My favorite commercial is... Old Spice. Those are funny.
[My most favorite commercial is the Jake from State Farm commercial. I know all the words to it and I think it's high larious. Another one that I think is so cute and funny as heck is the Sprint commercial. The one where the little girl goes, "Watch out for my roots!" Man, gets me every time!
As for my least favorite... I don't even know what it's for because as soon as it comes on, I change the channel. But it's this commercial with a dude and he's talking and all these graphics pop up... and I don't know what it is but it bugs me like crazy!]
Q. This random question is brought to you by Bianca Giovanni: Because I have Game of Thrones on the brain, who would you bet on in a fight between Khal Drogo and The Mountain?
OMG, totally Khal Drogo, are you kidding me? I miss him so much!
Q. Your husband just walked through the door and told you that you have five minutes to pack an overnight bag. What goes in it?
Money, clothes, a great pair of heels. ☺
Thank you the most for being here today, Megan! It’s been so much fun! Congratulations on the release of Make It Count!
Thanks for having me, Momo!

Megan Erickson grew up in a family that averages 5’3” on a good day and started writing to create characters who could reach the top kitchen shelf.
She’s got a couple of tattoos, has a thing for gladiators and has been called a crazy cat lady. After working as a journalist for years, she decided she liked creating her own endings better and switched back to fiction.
She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kids and two cats. And no, she still can’t reach the stupid top shelf.
