Jordyn Blog Tour: Author Interview + Giveaway

Welcome to the Jordyn Blog Tour!

For today's stop, I've got an awesome interview with the epic, Tiffany King where juicy things about King, Jordyn, and... just cool things in general, are revealed. Don't miss it!

Another thing I don't think you'll want to miss is the tour-wide giveaway! Definitely stick around for that!

Anomaly: Check

Check, check, check, check...That's all my life is. There's nothing ordinary about me. I'm "special." I know this because I'm reminded of it every stinking day. I can kick a Daemon's ass with both hands tied behind my back. I can run up a mountain without breaking a sweat. Know what I can't do? Get guys to notice me, or hang out with friends like normal people do. I can't just be ordinary because I have an Arch Angel for a mentor who is always breathing down my neck, and a family of angelic Guides and Protectors who scrutinize every little thing I do. Just for a day I want a life where I'm no longer some anomaly, where I don't have to feel like a lab rat.

And then I met Emrys. Okay, so my mentor and family hate him, but probably for good reason. After-all, he is a Soul Trader, and they aren't the most trust worthy beings. But, he is sooo hot with his green eyes, leather jacket and the sexiest tattoo you've ever seen running down his back. And-he doesn't treat me like a project.

I've got myself in quite a little quandary here. Choosing between my responsibilities and the Trader that holds my heart is something I didn't sign up for. Torn between two different worlds, I must now decide who to trust and who to walk away from. What's a girl to do? See what I mean? I am an anomaly. I am Jordyn.

Author Interview:

Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much for stopping by Books Over Boys today! It is such a pleasure to have you here! Let’s start off with some icebreakers, shall we?

Q. If you had to describe yourself using three words, they would be…
A. Jokester, Loyal, Optimistic

Q. If you were stranded on an island and were allowed one wish, what would it be?
A. My Family <3 or unlimited supply of books...kidding my family...really.

Q. If you were to create a slogan for your life, what would it be?
A. Don't let the naysayers drag you down. Work hard, believe in yourself, never give up, and your dreams will come true.

Now, let’s talk about writing and books, eh?

Q. What about writing captivates you the most?
A. Being able to create a story that goes the way I want it to. I always start with what I want to write already mapped out in my head, but then I get going, and the story and characters kind of take over. It may sound crazy, but it's almost like we work together until the story is finished. Whoa, that doesn't sound too wired, does it?

Q. Jordyn is your newest release. How would you describe it in one sentence?
A. A non-stop, action packed story with characters defined by a greater purpose.

Q. How much did Jordyn change from the first draft to the final copy?
A. The beginning had a major overhaul from when I started, but once I changed that, the rest stayed pretty close to the original, except for edits of course ;)

Q. Do you and your lead in Jordyn have any similar qualities? If so, what are they?
A. LOL, the only things Jordyn and I have in common is our sense of humor, and probably our gift for sarcasm. Other than that, Jordyn is everything I'm not: arrogant, tough as nails, and a bit of a hot head. She is definitely a bad ass. I am not a fighter, at all.

Q. What was the hardest part of writing Jordyn?
A. Staying true to the original Saving Angels Series, but also creating a story that would stand on it's own and appeal to different readers. If you have read the original series, you know what the main characters are and what their purposes are. Jordyn is the next evolution of that concept, but regardless of what she is or her abilities, she still has a vulnerable side when it comes to the human element.

Q. What’s your favorite (non-spoilery) quote from Jordyn?
A. Not one quote in particular, but some new words: "Awesomesauce," "humblesauce," "envysauce," "sexysauce." It'll make sense if you read the book, but don't wait too long to jump on the "saucewagon." It's going viral, baby.

Q. You’ve written a variety of Paranormal and Contemporary novels. Do you find that you like one genre more than the other?
A. Both are tough for different reasons. I love tackling tougher subject matters, so from that aspect, I enjoy contemporary stories involving real people with real issues, but I also love the challenge that paranormal presents. You might think writing paranormal would be easier because it's all make believe, but there still has to be a consistency to the story. I would like to continue to grow in this genre.

Q. How long does it usually take for you to finish a story?
A. It takes me an average of 6-8 weeks to finish the first draft of a story. Once I finish writing a story, it goes through several rounds of edits, first by me, then by my content editor and then finally, my "clean this story up" editor.

Q. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received from another author?
A. Write what you know.

Q. What’s one thing that readers would be surprised to find out about you?
A. My first book, Meant to Be, was the first story I ever wrote, and it was for my daughter who was 13 at the time. When I started it, I thought she would be the only one that ever read it. It was never intended to be released.

And lastly,

Q. What is one piece of advice that you would give to aspiring authors?
A. Don't ever let anyone tell you you're not a writer. Every story has an audience. Never, ever give up.

Again, thank you so much for being here with us today!
