Welcome to my stop on the Apollyon Blog Tour hosted by the uber awesome, Valerie, from Stuck In Books. I am a huge fan of the Covenant series and it's especially special to me because it's the first series of JLA's that I stumbled upon; it has the most special place in my heart of books. Anyway, I am honored to be able to have a spot on this tour!
For today's stop, I've got the super talented and ever so awesome, Jennifer L. Armentrout here with an interview. Along with that interview, I've got one heckuva giveaway to share with you that Spencer Hill Press is sponsoring. So much awesome to win that you can't miss out -- you just can't!
Also, throughout this two week tour, all ten blogs participating will have a letter for you to collect that will come together to form a short phrase (all capitals, no spaces) that will UNLOCK a scene from Aiden's POV.
Not just any scene, though.
It's that scene from Deity. (Chapter 22 - look it up in Deity)
Although I've yet to get my hands on a copy of Deity, I already know how much you'll want this scene and umm... hello, did you not catch the part where it says AIDEN'S POV?! Hells yes!
About the book:

Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release date: April 9, 2013

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.
Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.
The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.
Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.
Author interview:
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for stopping by Books Over Boys today! It is such a pleasure to have you here! Let’s start off with some icebreakers, shall we?
-- Thank you for having me!
Q. If you had to describe yourself using three words, they would be…
A. Addicted to caffeine
Q. If you were stranded on an island and were allowed one wish, what would it be?
A. To not be stranded on an island
Q. I am a slogan and it says…
A. A slogan? Giggles.
--
Now, let’s talk about writing and books, eh?
-- Cool.
Q. What about writing captivates you the most?
A. The ability to create an entire world with people that become real.
Q. What do you feel is the most significant change since the release of Half-Blood, whether it’s book-wise or just in your life, in general?
A. So much has changed since the release of my first book. It’ll be two years in October and while I’ve accomplished a lot, there’s still a lot for me to learn and grow from.
Q. Which character have you enjoyed getting to know the most over the course of writing the Covenant series?
A. Most definitely Alex. Out of all my books, I think she is the one with the most growth and development.
Q. What’s your favorite (non-spoilery) quote from any of the five books in the Covenant series?
A. ‘If a died a virgin in this craphole, I was going to be pissed off in the afterlife.’ Or some variation of that one.
Q. If you could introduce one of your characters from the Covenant series to any character from another book, who would it be and why?
A. I would introduce Seth to Daemon, because I think that would be entertaining.
Q. What element of a story do you feel is the most important and is necessary in most, if not all, novels?
A. Characterization. You can have a shaky plot (you don’t want one, but hey, it happens), pacing issues, etc, but great character development can carry the story.
And lastly,
Q. What is one piece of advice that you would give to aspiring authors?
A. Write want you want to, not what you need to.
--
Again, thank you so much for being here with us today!
-- Thanks for having me!

ReplyDeleteSeth meeting Daemon? Yeah, that would be hilarious.
ReplyDeleteSeth eyeballs Katy. Daemon puffs up. "You looking at my woman?"
Seth rolls his eyes and makes a rude gesture.
Daemon takes a step forward. "I'll smite your face off, pretty boy."
Seth quirks a brow. "Do you even have all ten fingers, Alien boy?"
Daemon turns into a blur of bright light, knocking Seth to his ass.
All hell breaks loose.
He he. Yeah, that would be funny.
