recently, there have been a ton of bomb cover reveals. like more than you can probably count but to me, these are way significant because they're for a couple of my top, top, top favorite authors and series. i'm freaking the freak out! so, i'm gonna highlight a few of them and just basically flail all over the place!
so after i finished doing my happy dance about the rain and nearly running outside to soak myself, i came back, crawled into bed and went on facebook. the first story at the top of my timeline was the cover reveal for the resolution of callie & kayden by jessica sorensen. i was in shock because i had no idea that it was being revealed today so i was just... jaw-dropped!
jessica sorensen said that the release date and blurb will be coming soon so i'm totally all eagle eye on this tidbit of info. i'm literally bouncing in my seat for it because i wanna know what happens next so very badly! i'm anxious and eager for it and i feel like we'll know today but... probably not since sorensen also mentioned that it's her "least fav part of putting a book together." but the cover is good enough for me!
side note: i’m not sure if this is the fifth or sixth book in the series... probably the fifth because sorensen said that it's coming after the probability of violet & luke (i’m not linking it to goodreads because there's no fifth book, just a #4.5 which... i don't understand but anyway...) but until we have the release date, there's no solid confirmation.
my excitement about the reveal is more about the fact that this series is high up the list for me. (this goes for the next couple of reveals as well.) i discovered sorensen towards the end of 2012 and when i did, i had the choice of choosing between the secret of ella and micha or the coincidence of callie & kayden for my very first sorensen read. i went with ella and micha and then shortly after, at the start of 2013, i dived into callie and kayden. i don't know what it was, maybe i was reading a ton of amazing books at the time and i was on this untouchable high but TCOCAK rocked my world and nearly tilted it on its axis so hard that now, the book/series itself is untouchable. i am in crazy, stupid, love with it so very much!
the entire series and cast of characters is so... deep. you can't help but feel for every single one of them whenever they get page time. they all have a story to tell and it's all so heartrending yet beautiful and incredibly hopeful. i love it! after callie and kayden, sorensen jumps to kayden's best friend, luke price. his book, the destiny of violet & luke, came out at the beginning of this month and just recently, i got around to reading it. oh my sweet goodness, my feels!
i strongly believe that the order in which you read books hugely affects how you feel about them in comparison to another reader. that said, before diving into TDOVAL, i was very raw from reading saving quinton, also by jessica sorensen. after having your feels put through the wringer like mine were for quinton and nova's story... it was crazy intense jumping right into another dark world. other readers 1) probably would have given themselves a break or 2) might feel differently than i do about these books because unless they read them in the order that i did, our feels won't be 100% the same.
anyway, TDOVAL seriously threw me outta wack. have any of you ever read a sorensen book? if so, you know how notorious she is for her life-damaging endings. if not, prepare yourself to go all HULK SMASH when you finish one of her books. SQ and TDOVAL both had endings that left me as parched as the sahara desert. i couldn't believe it! i'm not saying that they were necessarily bad but it's like, how could you just end it there? she closed them out with endings that left a big impact for what's to come. it's like pumping up a balloon with all this air and you're pumping and pumping and pumping and you know the pop is coming and then... the end. okay, that was a bad analogy but hopefully you get what i mean. so because i was feeling all twisted and distraught over TDOVAL, i was so incredibly ecstatic to see the reveal for violet and luke's second book, the probability of violet & luke!
just seeing the cover made me feel better because i know that 1) their story isn't over because where it left off... are you f'ing kidding me? ;p and 2) whatever bad thing or things occurred between the ending of TDOVAL and the beginning of TPOVAL will hopefully be fixed and smoothed over by the end. i hope, fingers crossed!
sigh. i love, love, love this series so much, all things by sorensen, actually! i cannot wait for both of these books, they are highly anticipated and i will love all over 'em as soon as they land in my hands!
okay, next up. everyone has most likely seen this cover by now. i felt like it blew up the web world yesterday but that could have all just been in my head. before i start my fangirl spiel, i'll show you guys the cover so you guys won't get lost in all my rambling.
total shut the f up and jaw-dropping schmidt, right? i so totes-ma-goats know! this cover... i cannot get enough of it! i just wanna see it everywhere i look! as soon as i saw it, i made it my twitter avatar, then later that evening, i made it my facebook picture as well as my phone's wallpaper. it's the eyes, the lips, the tattoos and the green font that totally has me captivated! green is my favorite color so seeing it, all bright, on the cover makes me super happy! normally, i don't like choosing favorite covers because it's almost like choosing your favorite character but i really cannot hold back on saying that so far, this cover is my absolute favorite from the series!
i have been waiting for nash's book since the moment i read his name in rule. automatically, there was just something about him that i wanted. badly. crownover describes nash donovan as the nice guy which to me is kinda like a contradiction only because... and this is probably going to sound bad... but only because like... i never really thought the word "nice" could or would be associated with the marked men series. *hides* that doesn't, whatsoever, deter me from wanting nash's book like mad. no way, no how. if anything, it makes me want it that much more because now, the curiosity factor has made itself very present.
2013 was definitely the year of the jay! if you scroll down the box on my sidebar where it lists all the books i've read, it looks like i read all three marked men books evenly throughout the year. i read rule around this time last year, i read jet around june and i read rome in october. i fell truly, madly and deeply in love with these men because they're just so sexy and real. crownover writes what she knows and it really comes through in her books, nothing is faked or forced. this year is huge for crownover! she has five books releasing this year and that's epic schmidt! the other half of the marked men are coming. #thatswhatshesaid ;p oh my gosh, just saying that has me all giddy! i am dying for nash, rowdy and asa! i can't wait to unravel their stories and to just... get back in that world!
not only will the rest of the marked men arrive this year but jay crownover's new series, welcome to the point will also be making its debut! freak the freak out! who is excited to met bax and race?! this girl! i'm a die-hard fan of crownover so i'll read anything she writes and hearing about her new series nearly sent me into cardiac arrest. i'm so stoked, people! you don't even understand! it seems like 2014 will definitely be the year of the jay, as well, woot!
ooh, before i forget! i actually have the synopsis for nash to share with all of you! check it out!
will their past determine their future?
saint ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming a nurse. focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. she doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. dark, brooding nash donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused but he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.
saint has no idea that nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. he can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them—or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. but the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.
when nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. now, saint has to decide: is nash worth risking herself for all over again?
so, these are the beauties that i'm currently drowning in! what do you guys think? are you guys a fan of these series? let me know your thoughts and feels!
