All Played Out by Cora Carmack Street Team: Big/Little—“Get to Know”

Last week or so, Cora Carmack introduced the new street team for her upcoming release in the Rusk University series, All Played Out. This time around, all the new members were assigned a mentor, or in my case, a little. As soon as I found out who my little was I got to knowing more about her. Check out my interview/questionnaire with her below!

Cora posted the announcement here if any of you would like to check out the new team! I am so excited and pumped to start spreading the word about Nell and Torres! Leggggo! Let's do this!

About the book:

Title: All Played Out (Rusk University, #3)
Author: Cora Carmack
Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks
Expected publication: May 12, 2015
Age group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Goodreads | Amazon
In the third book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack’s Rusk University series, a good girl is about to find out what happens when she creates the ultimate college bucket list and she sets her sights on a jock.

First person in her family to go to college? CHECK.
Straight A’s? CHECK.
On track to graduate early? CHECK.
Social life? . . . Yeah, about that . . .

With just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay . . . Scratch that. She knows she hasn't had the full college experience.)

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a "to do" list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it's impossible to get hurt . . . again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she's never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he's willing to take the chance when it's more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.

Book Spotlight: Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover

So you’ve met Rule, Jet, Rome, and Nash! But there’s a new boy in town, along with a new series, by Jay Crownover. Better When He’s Bad (Welcome to the Point, #1) is a new adult novel scheduled for publication on June 17, 2014, by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing.

About the book:

Title: Better When He's Bad (Welcome to the Point, #1)
Author: Jay Crownover
Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks
Expected publication: June 17, 2014
Age group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Rome returns with a combustible new series that is sexier, darker, more dangerous—and better than ever!

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad... meet Shane Baxter.

Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.

Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.

Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize... some boys are just better when they’re bad.

who doesn't love vikings?

on february 6, megan erickson tweeted this. as soon as i saw it, i jumped on it like mad because well... who doesn't love vikings? i have a slight... not obsession but... fascination (is it?) with them. that entire time era fascinates me so i was all, "MEGAN DO ETTTT OR ELSE!"

obvi, it's been a while since that conversation but the idea of reading a book about vikings has been lingering in the back of my mind. this morning, it shot to the forefront and omg... i found a viking romance series that... screw everything else, i'm diving into today!

but before i tell you what it is, let me tell you about how i found it. i know, i'm super weird like that. i like to track back to how i got to where i ended. ha, if that made any sense.

what does your crack read like?

a few weeks ago, i had monica murphy by the blog for an interview. in the interview, i had asked her:
q. as i started reading savor, i realized that the first book, crave, had that sister/best friend thing going on. in torn, it had that haters-to-lovers thing going on and in savor it had that forbidden/opposites attracts thing working. which of the three is your favorite to read about?

um…all of them? truthfully, i love love the forbidden, i work for him/she works for me boss/assistant storyline. those stories are my crack.

click here to read the full interview.
ever since then, i haven't been able to get the question outta my head. hence, the prompt for this post.

as the question came and left, i kept pondering my response and eventually, i realized that my absolute most favorite stories to read about are the ones where they've been friends for forever long and then one day, boom—they're not. i mean, in some stories, it's totes-ma-goats obvious and that's fine because i can go in expecting it but the heroin to my veins are the ones where it's unexpected. the ones where they've been the bestest of friends since the beginning of time, but throughout the entire book, they're not trying to get at each other until something or someone crosses the "friends-only" line.

drown in the beauty

okay, so the first thing that i wake up to this morning is the sound of pouring rain. like... what better way to wake up, right? ;p i seriously can't even explain to you how excited and on-cloud-nine happy this makes me. living in cali my whole life, we never got an over abundance of snow or anything like that so rain to me is a major deal! anyway, i'm in a super good mood this morning and it just keeps getting better and better.

recently, there have been a ton of bomb cover reveals. like more than you can probably count but to me, these are way significant because they're for a couple of my top, top, top favorite authors and series. i'm freaking the freak out! so, i'm gonna highlight a few of them and just basically flail all over the place!

so after i finished doing my happy dance about the rain and nearly running outside to soak myself, i came back, crawled into bed and went on facebook. the first story at the top of my timeline was the cover reveal for the resolution of callie & kayden by jessica sorensen. i was in shock because i had no idea that it was being revealed today so i was just... jaw-dropped!

so... the war rages

it's been a while since i've posted anything... see, this is where i become conflicted. i know that the universe doesn't revolve around my blog and no one has time to sit around to constantly refresh my blog for my next new post but... i feel like that; i feel this pressure to be current and relevant and present. i know that no one cares that the last five, six, seven posts have been blog tours, cover reveals, blitzes—all promo posts, but like i said, the pressure. i feel like i need to post something other than that because if i don't, everything becomes robotic and unattached. but at the same time, there are some readers who don't necessarily care about the personal stuff behind the blog. so... the war rages.

i just... it's so many things. i haven't really wanted to blog for a long time now. i feel that blogging has become the thing to do just because everyone's doing it and because of that, i sorta don't wanna do it anymore. it's lost its appeal. it's hard to find unique and original ideas/posts nowadays. everything's all the same. everything feels like a competition to be the loudest, to be the biggest fan, to be the biggest promoter, to be the biggest and the bestest and because everyone's posting the same kind of stuff, it's hard to not get drowned out. and maybe i'm throwing a fit because books over boys is fading. i don't know. i just... want to leave this world for a bit but how do i do that when i've been all in for so long now?
