who doesn't love vikings?

on february 6, megan erickson tweeted this. as soon as i saw it, i jumped on it like mad because well... who doesn't love vikings? i have a slight... not obsession but... fascination (is it?) with them. that entire time era fascinates me so i was all, "MEGAN DO ETTTT OR ELSE!"

obvi, it's been a while since that conversation but the idea of reading a book about vikings has been lingering in the back of my mind. this morning, it shot to the forefront and omg... i found a viking romance series that... screw everything else, i'm diving into today!

but before i tell you what it is, let me tell you about how i found it. i know, i'm super weird like that. i like to track back to how i got to where i ended. ha, if that made any sense.

okay, so today is tuesday. in the book world, authors, bloggers, readers, all the book people, normally like to do this thing called teaser tuesday. i was scrolling through my twitter timeline when i came across a tweet from the fabulous, samanthe beck. i followed her link to facebook, read her super smexy teaser from her upcoming sequel to private practice and afterwards, i browsed her page a bit, read a few more teasers from some of her other upcoming works and... i digress.

anyway, as i was browsing her page, i saw a post that she shared from a fellow writer that was like... the lightbulb in the dark—ding, ding, ding! i clicked on it so fast and so hard, i'm surprised i didn't break my phone.

read the entire teaser here.

the book that has all my excitement twisted up into a little knot is norse jewel by gina conkle. first, let's hear more about it, shall we?

title: norse jewel

amazon | barnes & noble | kobo | ibooks | google play

there are many reasons why i am so stoked for this.

  1. the obvious viking thing going on
  2. it's already out. there's no waiting, ha!
  3. entangled is the publisher (eases my worry of whether or not i'll like it)
  4. it's a romance! this is huge because i'm a romance freak
  5. my gut is telling me that i'll really love it

so, there you have it! i can't believe i haven't heard of it until now. i don't quite know what to expect (you can read the first chapter here, i did ;p) but i'm gonna get off of here and go find out!

also, if you know of any viking romance (does that mean it's historical? it must? right?) books, please let me know! i'm officially on the hunt!

  1. Whoa! So glad I found you. I hope you enjoy Norse Jewel. I'm working on Norse Fire and Norse Wolf, books 2 and 3 in that series. Some other Viking authors: my all time fave, Josie Litton Dream of Me/Believe in Me (a double book) with #3 Come Back to Me. There's also Catherine Coulter's Viking series (Lord of Hawkfell Island, but Season of the Sun is #1 in the series), and Susan Squires, Danegeld (dark and violent but really good). I hope this helps with your Viking fix and nice to meet you. Gina
