#FootballFriday + Giveaway: Carson McClain

Guess what time it is?! It's #FootballFriday time, baby!

If you've been living under a rock for these past few days, we have entered April. Which could only mean one thing: there's only a month left until All Lined Up's release, woot! The countdown has officially begun! If some of you are unware, I am a part of Cora Carmack's street team, the #Carmcats, and we are getting super pumped for ALU's release! Majority of us have already read it and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we seriously, for really reals, cannot wait for all of you to get your read on with Carson and Dallas!

Because we still have six weeks left, obvi, that's like... forever away, the #Carmcats and I, along with Cora Carmack, will be introducing all of you to a few of the main characters in the Rusk University series throughout these next few weeks in the hopes of, you know, lessening the painful wait for ALU, yet amping up your enthusiasm all at once. (Unrelated: that was like... one super-duper long sentence. Omg. *bugged*)

So, I welcome you all to #FootballFriday. For this first week, we'll be meeting the one and only, Carson McClain. Aka your newest boyfriend. ;p But first, a bit about the book!

About the book:

Title: All Lined Up (Rusk University, #1)
Author: Cora Carmack
Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks
Expected publication: May 13, 2014
Age group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That’s what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn’t always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It’s obliterated.

Dallas doesn’t know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn’t know that Dallas is his new coach’s daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Carson's first line: It's like she took the scream right out of my throat.

When Dallas first sees Carson: Down in the yard, highlighted by one of the floodlights affixed to the outside of the house, is another gorgeous guy wearing dark, worn jeans, scuffed boots, and a smirk that oscillates between infuriating and adorable. He's got dark hair and a delectable touch of scruff along his jaw, and he looks entirely entertained by my mental breakdown. And all I can think is... Dear God, not another one.

A few of my favorite Carson lines:

I keep my eyes on my feet as he ask, "So, Daredevil, besides jumping off balconies, what other crazy things do you spend your time doing?"

"Hanging out in backyards with complete strangers, obviously."

His blue eyes are practically twinkling when he nudges my shoulder and says, "I've had my hands up your skirt, Daredevil. I think that qualifies me as an acquaintance at least."

"You're it for me. So run if you'd like, but I'll follow. You can try to hold me at arm's length, but I'll never stop trying to pull you close. Be scared if you must, but you're not going to lose me. Not unless your dad comes in and finds me here, then neither of us will have a choice."

Coincidently, these are two of Cora's favorite quotes, as well. I love 'em because just in these two quotes, they express Carson and his personality perfectly. Gah, I love him! Speaking of Cora, check out her post on Carson here.

My song for Carson:

Certain lyrics seem perfect for Carson and other parts... not so much but I think the overall sound of the song is really fitting. Also, I just really super lovvvve this song! ♫

So, what do you think of Carson McClain? Here's what Cora had to say:

To me, he's like a mix between Cade and Garrick, so if you're fond of Golden Boy or British Boy, I think you'll enjoy meeting this Country Boy. :)

Three more things before you bounce outta here. First, who wants some more Bliss and Garrick? Well, check it out! If you pre-order a copy of All Lined Up (like... today! ;p), you'll get a bonus scene of the lovey-dovey couple from Losing It. Eep, major fangirl moment! For more info, click here.

Secondly, don't forget that Losing It is still on sale for $2.99 (reguarly $6.99)! That's a major deal so get on it, stat!
