Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.
In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . .
Excerpt from Elect:
Q. Trace and Nixon have a very passionate relationship. It starts off rocky and is met with a lot of barriers. Can you talk about the history of their relationship?
Their relationship is a lot like Romeo and Juliet. Both families have been enemies for a long time, the only problem is, until recently Trace wasn’t aware that her family was involved with the mafia or that Nixon’s family was blamed for her parents death. It’s also an interesting relationship because Trace is a weakness for Nixon and since he’s the boss—people will want to use that against him, so as much as he loves her he’s always battling with wanting to push her away in order to keep her safe.
Q. Do you base any of your characters off of yourself or your family/friends? (Are you and your husband versions of young you and your hubby? ☺
I think I pull from EVERYONE in my family as well as friends. I don’t necessarily base characters off people I know but I’ll use personalities and project them onto my characters ;) My husband is inspiration for all my male heroes because he’s a stud, but I rarely say that to his face because he’s Dutch and the Dutch are a proud people..lol we don’t want him getting a big head!
