Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 9

He lifted me off the floor and onto the counter, shoving the plates away and knocking over the glass of orange juice. When he pushed my knees apart, hands running up my thighs and sending a strike of lightning desire up my spine, he crushed his body against mine and I forgot about the mess entirely. His mouth and tongue were hot against my neck and I buried my hands in his hair as his arms wrapped around me and his fingertips raked down my back. One of his hands found the point of my hip and his teeth nicked the bend of my neck. I dug my nails into his shoulder and my head fell back, something wild in me craving him. My fingers grabbed a fistful of his shirt and I ached to tear it off of him, to do anything to break down the thin, aggravating barrier of cloth between our skin. I fumbled with the buttons, gasping for breath when his mouth wasn’t on mine, and I pushed his open shirt over his shoulders, my eyes capturing his muscled chest and tattoos spreading up his arm and the side of his neck.

“I’ve wanted you for so long,” he murmured against my throat between kisses. “Every time I look at you I feel like I’m about to explode, no matter how still I try to stay around you. Inside I’m like a hurricane. Everything you do… you drive me crazy.” His mouth returned to mine hungrily. “The way you play with the little curls in the ends of your hair.” He kissed me again, his hands squeezing my sides. “The way you wring the hem of your shirt with your finger and make that little face when you’re deep in thought.” Another kiss and a small, secret smile. His thumbs glided under my shirt just an inch and the contact made me gasp and dig my nails into the back of his neck. “Where you touch me it feels like I’m on fire.” Again, he kissed me, long and deep and leisurely.

Although you shouldn't need to be warned because by now, you should have read Angelfire. ;) I'm just saying.

He leaned over me until I was drowning in him. “Ellie—”

“I know why you won’t be with me,” I said, straightening myself against the wall. “It’s not just that you’re afraid of Michael. It’s because the only way we can stay together is for me to die over and over again.”

Will closed his eyes and tightened his mouth without a response..Rules, he could break. Michael, he could fight. He was most afraid that if he let down the wall he built up between us, then it would hurt too much to give in and love me as much as he ached to. If he did, I would still die regardless and he would finally break.

I took a step back from him and he let me go without protest. I didn’t look away from him until I was inside the bathroom. The door shut behind me and I locked it. My back hit the wall and I slid to the floor and cried. I heard his fist pound once on the wall in anger just outside the room. I didn’t want to end the night crying on the bathroom floor. It was so hard for me to see him every day and want him so badly, but yet again I forgot about how much it hurt him to feel the same way. It was so painful for us to be apart, but I didn’t know if either of us was strong enough to be together.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS BOOK FOREVER AND A DAY. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S FINALLY OUT IN BOOKSTORES, SHITTING ON SHELVES, WAITING TO BE PICKED UP BY AWESOME PEOPLE LIKE YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU, AND YOU. EEEEEEEEEEEE!

Aah, okay I've calmed down somewhat and have returned to the regular caps stuff. But seriously, I'm so ecstatic right now...well, maybe not right now because by the time you read this, I'll be off in la-la land dreaming about Will and his dreamy green eyes...but you get my point. ;) I cannot express how much I love this book and how dear it is to my bosom. <3333

Today's guest post is from yours truly. As I have stated multiple times before, music is a major part of me and my reading so today, of course, I'll be featuring a bunch of stuff that's located in my Angelfire playlist on my ipod. There are quite a few songs so I'll narrow it down to like...my top five or eight or ten or something and then maybe I'll link to the rest of them.

Oh shoot, I should probably share a little snippet of my Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked reviews with you guys...if you guys wanted to hear what I thought...like that's necessary.

Momo on Angelfire: Angelfire . . . *hang on, let me gather my thoughts; swooning over Will!* Moulton delivers an amazing, refreshing, and new twist to angel mythology! Like I mentioned above, angels are making it big this year so with that every book should have this something about them that will make readers want to pick the book up! For Angelfire, forget that something and just read the book!

Angelfire opens up with an action-packed scene – throwing you right into all the action! Ellie constantly has these nightmares of her fighting reapers and every time she has these dreams, something always seems so familiar about them; as if she’s been there before. Little does she know she’s been reincarnated over and over again because she’s an ancient warrior who has the power to wield swords of angelfire to fight the reapers! As Ellie becomes more and more aware of these reapers, she starts seeing this mysterious boy appear wherever she is. Turns out that this mysterious boy, Will, is her guardian; sworn to protect her at all times in battle. At first, Ellie is very stubborn and wants to continue on with her teenage life as if none of it were true. I totally agree with her there. I mean, if there was a bomb dropped on me like that, I’d absolutely want nothing else but normal! Before you know it, there’s nothing but Ellie and Will fighting off reapers here and there!

Momo on Wings of the Wicked: Man, I swear, throughout all of Wings, Courtney Allison Moulton grabbed my emotions by the BALLLLLLS! LOL and she did not let go, even after the book had long been finished. If you haven’t read Angelfire, you are seriously missing out on something amazing and if you have, you absolutely cannot miss out on Wings of the Wicked. If you do, you will be the most deprived bookworm, ever. ;)

Like they say, if there’s a book you want to read and it hasn’t been written yet, write it yourself. Well, guess what? Luckily for me, Courtney Allison Moulton wrote the book that I have always wanted to read. Seriously. Wings of the Wicked has everything that I want in a book and then some: the kick-ass heroine, who at times is vulnerable, sweet, and sad, the perfect hero to match the heroine in all ways possible, the action was done just right, the supporting characters of Wings were amazing and oh-so-entertaining, the storyline was complex, dangerous, sweet, bitter, sad, happy, comical, and overall, Wings was just extremely un-put-down-able.

Disclaimer: Courtney Allison Moulton had stated several times that Wings of the Wicked is her baby so if you so much as give it the wrong look when you walk past it in the stores, I will pull out my butt-chopping swords on you quicker than you can say rootbeer floats! ;) Don’t mess with me and this book. Feelings…along with other stuff, will get damaged.

Okay, now onto my playlist. Before I start a book, I research the heck out of it and I check out the author's website to see if they've stated anything about music and their book. I'd rather read a book and listen to music from the author's playlist then make one myself because I feel like the author picked those specific songs for a reason and they probably tie back into the book somehow, whereas if I picked random songs myself....they might not go so well with the book. With that said, all the songs I'm about to share with you guys came straight from Courtney's playlist with the exception of one song. Also note that I listened to the same songs for book two as I did for book one because I read an ARC copy of Wings back in August/September of 2011 and Courtney didn't reveal her playlist yet so I just went with the Angelfire playlist.

The number one song that always brings me right back to Wellie is:

30 Seconds to Mars - Alibi

This song and the Angelfire series go together like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I listened to it for a majority of both books, especially during the sad moments, but there is one chapter in both books that fit perfectly with this song. Now when I say "fit", I don't necessarily mean lyric wise, not for this song anyway, although it sort of could fit for the lyrics. In Angelfire, this song was blasting loudly through my ipod during Chapter 28 and I won't say why because it's another one of those things that I just can't really put into words. In Wings of the Wicked, this song couldn't have been more perfect for Chapter 17. Man, just thinking back to it makes me all happy and giddy and squirmy. I should also state that these chapters were one of my favorites from both books.

For this next song, I didn't listen to it when I read Angelfire or Wings of the Wicked but right after I turned the last page of Wings of the Wicked, it hit me that this next song is totally perfect for Ellie.

Mariah McManus - Unarmed

I couldn't find a video with lyrics so I'll post a few here.

I love her voice and I could just picture every single word flowing out of Ellie's mouth. I especially love the first verse and the chorus is just spot on...well, I think so anyway. So, what do you guys think of it? The lyrics? Do you think this song fits? :) Also, this is the song that I added to the playlist. I showed it to Courtney and she agrees that it's so Ellie, as well.

This third song I listened to a lot during the sad, melancholy scenes as well.

Angus & Julia Stone - Draw Your Swords

The first verse into the chorus is perfect for Will. <333 If Will was saying, "The only one" with all that angst and passion, I wouldn't question it for one second! Na-uh, not me!
These next three songs I listened to a lot when Ellie was doing her thang and killing all those gruesome reapers. First up,
We Are The Fallen - Through Hell

A few reasons why I absolutely love this song: 1.) The lyrics describe Ellie and everything that's happening to her in both Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked perfectly, 2.) It's totally kick-ass, and 3.) It's perfect for when Ellie's kicking the poop out of those scary reapers! Also, how freakin' awesome is this video?! I loved the pictures, especially the last one! WOW.
The next song is just as awesome!
Firelight - Unbreakable

Right when I get to a scene where Ellie and Will are in the middle of a fight with reapers, I immediately switch the song to this one. In the beginning of both Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked, you're thrown straight into a fight, and this song is great to open with. Also, the lyrics - TOTALLY ELLIE when she's like...in her Preliator state of mind.
The third song is:
Red - Breathe Into Me

Lyric wise this song probably doesn't really have that much to do with the books (I think) but the music is perfect and I'm totally head-banging when I put this one on and Ellie and Will are chompin' up people with their uber awesome swords.
This last song that I'll be sharing with you guys is a song that I feel captures the essence of the Angelfire series, overall.
Torus - Wraith (Dubstep)

This song is just music, no singing but I feel that the beat and overall feel of this song captures everything...sorta, about the Angelfire series. I have a story to share with all of you about this song and my sisters. When Courtney first shared this song, I immediately agreed that it was perfect for the books and afterwards, I kept listening to it nonstop. Then I posted the song on facebook and one of my sisters listened to it then she told me that it was a scary song. *gasp* She also told my other sister to listen to it to get her point across and all that weird stuff. I guess it's sorta understandable because they don't read and when they do, they get scared easily...so whatever, this song rocks and that's that! ;)

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 8

Will was sitting on my bed when I got to my room. He'd discarded his long-sleeved shirt and had on just his jeans and T-shirt. He looked up as I entered, and our eyes met for a moment. I sat down to his right side on the bed and reached up a hand to smooth out his disheveled hair, and my eyes fell to the silver chain around his neck. The chain slipped between my fingers, and I drew the crucifix out the collar of his shirt. My fingers brushed the silver against his chest, the fondness of my memories of it pressing down on my heart, and my gaze moved to his tattoos. My hand slid across his skin to trace the delicate swirls of ink down his neck and arm. The muscle beneath his skin rippled at my touch, and he watched me in silence. My finger followed each intricate link of ink, and as the memory came, the sadness in my heart sank into my stomach. I realized now that this was the old angelic language I'd forgotten long ago, and it was my true name tattooed down his arm. I brushed my fingertips across the script, and he trembled and took a deep breath.

I was going to share the whole page....but the line right after the last sentence was sorta spoilery but man oh man, do I love this scene like crazy or what?! This scene, without a doubt, has got to be my most favorite out of Wings of the Wicked. After everything that happened, the tension and turmoil rolling around within these few pages were crazy so when this scene happened, I fell even more in love with Wings and Courtney - for being such an awesome genius.

Today, we have with us Lucia from iLive, iLaugh, iLove Books. She has written up a very convincing post so don't miss it. I definitely enjoyed it a lot and it's one of my favorites. :)

Lucia on Angelfire: It's time for my favorite and very swoon-worthy character. Oh, Will. *swoons* He's usually hidden under an I'm-your-guardian-and-therefore-you-are-my-responsibility-and-nothing-more shell, but sometimes, sometimes, his emotions poke out. And O.M.G. Every time that happens, my heart just breaks. Shatters. Into a million little pieces. He's so beautiful. (Picture a thousand little hearts floating around my head like those anime characters. With a lot of glitter.) His complete devotion to Ellie... my heart's breaking again. | Overall, I really enjoyed the story. Hilarious narration, good writing style, and of course, the perfect male hero. Fans of The Mortal Instruments or any angel-related novel would enjoy this one. It's fast-paced, action and romance filled, and also has some dark moments. Great debut from Courtney Allison Moulton. I absolutely cannot wait for Wings of the Wicked and more.

REASONS WHY I LOVE ANGELFIRE

#1: Ellie is hilarious.

I cried out and my chair slipped out from under me. The racket echoed through the classroom as my butt hit the floor and the chair crashed.
Everyone around me was silent, too shocked to laugh, but I didn't dare look up. My entire body flushed with heat.
Oh God, oh God... Both my hands covered my face as I sat on the floor, absolutely mortified.
"Holy crap, Ellie, are you okay?" asked my table partner.
I looked up to see his face peering down at me. "The chair... it slipped."

#2: She's also really smart.

[Ellie] "I thought you were going to punch that guy."
"If he touched you, I would've."
I blinked in surprise. "Well, he didn't."
He huffed. "Good."
I tried not to laugh. Landon had been my friend since the sixth grade, but he was a boy, and boys made no sense to me.

#3: She could seriously be my best friend.

After my mom had organized the purchase and we were ready to head home, I hopped into the driver's seat of my birthday present. The interior was wrapped in smooth, cool leather and I let myself sink into it.
Mom dipped her head to smile at me through the driver's-side window.
"I'm going to name him Marshmallow," I announced.
My mom raised an eyebrow. "Marshmallow?"
"Yes, and he loves it."

#4: One word: badass. (Wait, is that one word, or two? Or a hyphenated one?)

I grabbed one of my swords and charged. The reaper saw me coming and threw her paw into my face, snapping my head to the side. I ground my teeth bitterly, reeled my arm back, and pounded my fist into her jaw as hard as I could. Instead of just breaking again, her jaw flung free from her skull and skidded across the pavement in a spray of blood.
Another reaper came out of nowhere. It sprang from the shadows at my left, its fangs a flash of white in the dark, but Will swept his own sword through the air between us, stopping my breath. His giant blade sliced through the reaper's neck, sending its head spiraling high over me as it hardened to stone. The head and body hit the pavement and smashed into a thousand stony pieces.
I spun back around as the first reaper reared onto her hind legs, swinging her head in a rage, and I slammed my sword through her ribcage. As the fiery blade struck her heart, she crumpled to all fours. She wheezed and gagged just before her shuddering body erupted into flames and she was gone forever.

#5: This book has those "awwww" sad moments.

The pink music box my dad had given me when I was seven sat between a pair of scented candles and a birthday card my grandmother had sent me earlier in the week. I got up, walked to my dresser, and lifted the top of the music box. The little plastic ballerina inside unfolded and stood. I lifted the box and turned the key on the bottom. Delicate music began to play, and the ballerina turned slowly. I watched her dance for a few moments, wondering how my life had gotten this way, how my dad had turned into such a hateful person. I loved that music box, now mostly because it reminded me of the wonderful father the man downstairs used to be. I'd have given anything to turn back the clock on the last ten years of my life- and that wasn't something someone my age should have to feel.

#6: Nerds.

"Nathaniel is in charge of the rare books here," Will explained.
"Correct," Nathaniel added. "I can basically bring in any books I want and keep them here. I have a few volumes documenting reapers throughout history. I'm also a collector of antiquities, and that's how I make my money, since I only volunteer here. I like old things, probably because I am very old myself. You'd be surprised how lucrative it is to buy a few ugly paintings and sell them to billionaires a hundred years later. Tens of millions of dollars for an original Picasso are nothing to sneeze at."

#7: Kick-butt nerds.

Nathaniel grabbed it, spun around, pumped the shotgun once, and blasted Ivar square in the chest, knocking her back a few steps.

#8: Will.

I nodded and took a deep breath. "You'd better take off. I don't think it would be a good idea to walk back with ripped-up clothes and you with me. It might look bad."
"Good thinking," he said. "I'll be close."
"Thanks, Will."
He touched my shoulder. "You still look beautiful in your dress."
When I turned to face him, he was gone. Again.

#9: More Will.

Will sat in a chair against the wall with an acoustic guitar in his hands. I studied the way his hands moved quickly, fluid and precise like ripples on water, the muscles in his arms tight and defined. The way his head bobbed and his foot tapped the floor with the beat captivated me. I recognized the song, though I couldn't quite place it. But the name of the song didn't really matter. I was entranced. It was kind of sexy watching him play. Sexy and beautiful, like every other aspect of him.

#10: Oh, Will...

He dropped his hand to mine, his body so close to mine I could hardly stand it. "If we're separated-if I lose you-I'll find you," he breathed, his cheek touching mine gently, lighting tiny fireworks on my skin.

And there you have it! Reasons why I love Angelfire. I hoped you enjoyed all those excerpts... especially the Will ones... Oh, sigh.

Okay, so last night I was creepin' on the twittah and I saw a retweet by Jodi Meadows where someone had tweeted her and told her that their...B&N (I think) had copies of Incarnate out early. I got excited and thought that maybe my B&N might have copies of Wings of the Wicked and Incarnate out early so I immediately wanted to go right then...but sadly, I didn't have a ride to my B&N (which is only like five minutes away and if I was desperate enough, I could have walked).

So, this morning I got up around eight and my sister was doing her laundry and then we had to run to Wal-mart and.....fast forward this part of my story. After we left Wal-mart, I told my sister to drop by B&N because I really wanted to check. I'm never on my B&N's ass about their books and stuff so I didn't have much hope that they would have the books out early but I was telling my sister that the shipment of books for Wings of the Wicked and Incarnate were probably there already and if they weren't out, sitting on the shelves, they would be sitting in the back of the store...or something.

We were so early that I didn't think B&N opened yet so I had my sister drive right up to the door so I could see the store hours and they opened from 9am-10pm. I looked at the clock and it said 9:11 (but the clock is set five minutes ahead). My sister parked and then we went inside...and I'm pretty sure we were the first customers of the day. We were greeted by one of the employees who kindly said good morning to us and to my right, on one of the stands, I saw copies of Everneath then I pointed and said to my sister, "Ah, I gotta come back and get that one too!"

We walked towards the YA section and before I could even walk down the aisle, I saw Incarnate sitting there on the shelf. I ran up to it and touched the cover ever so lightly, adrenaline shooting through me. Then I looked down the aisle and there it was, Wings of the Wicked filled completely to the edge of the shelf, almost falling over. I ran to stand right in front of the book, looking at it in disbelief then I started clapping like a dolphin, shrieking, "IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! THEY HAVE IT!" My sister came down the aisle saying, "You. Look. So. Scary." Then I hit her a few times because I was so freakin' ecstatic. After I was for sure that the copies were there and my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, I walked around the shelf to the other side just to get a look at all the awesome books sitting there.

My sister started rushing me and I had to just keep looking at Incarnate and Wings sitting there because it made me so happy. I counted how many copies were out and they had four copies of Incarnate and eight copies of Wings of the Wicked. :)

Needless to say, purchasing those two books most definitely made my weekend...if only I went and checked last night but better late than never, eh?

Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 7

He was wearing a white mask that concealed half his face like the Phantom of the Opera. The half of his face I could see was breathtaking. I had never seen any boy so beautiful. His pale gold hair was combed neatly back with only a few escaping wisps, and he wore a black tuxedo beneath a cape.

His presence wrapped around me, electric and inviting, and he spun me around the hall in a waltz that fit poorly with the music playing, but somehow he kept us in rhythm. Before I was aware of it, the music and commotion had sunk into a dull roar until I couldn't hear anything at all. I looked nowhere but up into his eyes, which were the most fiery opalescent hazel I had ever seen, practically inhuman. His dancing was like water, powerful and unyielding, yet fluid and smooth through every movement, like a river following its predetermined course.

"I'm Cadan," he replied.
"That's an unusual name," I noted absently.
"It's a very, very old one." The backs of his fingers traced along my collarbone. I shivered.

"What are you doing here?" Will demanded, his voice subzero cold, frightening even me.
"I only wanted to meet her," Cadan said. "I had to get a look at the girl who's been rustling everyone's feathers so much lately. She seems to be the object of Ragnuk's obsession, not to mention Bastian's. Can you blame me for my curiosity?"

"She's a lovely thing," Cadan said, still as stone, his chin up, his eyes locked on Will's. "I see why you keep her so close. You wouldn't ant anyone like me sweeping her off her feet, would you?"

The next instant Will's sword sliced through the air between us and halted, poised right between Cadan's eyes....."One more step and I turn your face into a doughnut."
Cadan stared wide-eyed down the blade. "Pretty sure that sword would turn my face into two pieces, if you want to get technical."

Jaime on Angelfire: First, I loved this book!! It was a little slow going in the beginning but as the book progressed I could not stop reading. Courtney has created a world where reapers are beasts like bears and wolves and they eat people to send them to the underworld. There are also reapers that come in human form called Vir; I would say more but I don't want to spoil the book.

The characters of Ellie and Will are so strongly written. Ellie is a badass and Will fights right along with her. One thing I can say about this book was I was very happy there was no love triangle. There was another boy but Ellie's focus was always on Will.


Jaime on Wings of the Wicked: The story continues with so much action that you’re sitting on the edge of your seat as soon as you open the book! Bastian is back along with some horrifying reapers and some very big surprises. I’m pretty sure I said “Oh Crap” a few times and also cried. Answers will be answered but more questions arise. Some pretty terrible stuff happens in this book and the ending will leave you shaking your fist at Miss Moulton because it’s one hell of a cliffhanger! This is a must buy if you loved Angelfire and if you haven’t read it buy them both!!!


Why I love Cadan….

Yes we all know he’s smoking hot but there’s more to Cadan than that. Being that he is a Demonic Vir you’d expect him to be a bad guy and I’m sure he has been but, he also has a soft side. For those of you who get to read Wings of the Wicked soon if you didn’t love Cadan before trust me in this book you will! What I love about Cadan is he isn’t afraid to live; he isn’t stoic like Will. He has quick wit and a sarcastic side I absolutely adore and he isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

“She’s a lovely thing.” Cadan said, still as stone, his chin up, his eyes locked on Will’s. “I see why you kept her so close. You wouldn’t want anyone like me sweeping her off her feet, would you?”

But he also has a very protective and loving side too…

“I’m sorry for what he has done to you,” Cadan said. “For everything he’s done to you. I’m not sure if I’m strong enough to kill him, but for you, I’d try.”

I leaned into him. I understood what it felt like to be something frightening and try to maintain some shred of humanity. Will fought the same kind of darkness that threatened to destroy who I really was, the darkness that threatened to destroy him and take him away from me. We both waged internal wars against the monsters inside us. It made us dangerous to everyone around us, and to each other. I'd been so busy worrying about fighting the scary side of me that I'd forgotten he was doing the same. He was always thinking of me and what I needed, and I never thought about what he needed.

"What's wrong, Ellie? Tell me how I can fix this."

My breath trembled as I drew it in and I pressed my face deeper into his chest. "I thought he had killed you."

He exhaled and kissed my hair.

"I thought I was going to lose you," I confessed, biting back a sob that threatened to break free.

Will pulled away so that our eyes met. The centuries we had spent together were filling my heart with so much emotion that I felt it was about to burst. I didn't remember any of it, but I knew it all in my soul.

"You'll never lose me," he said gently, and wiped the tears from my cheeks. "I'll always be here."

I wrapped my arms around his back and held him as tightly as I could, afraid he'd drift away.

He dropped his head to mind, his body so close to mine I could hardly stand it. "It we're separated - if I lose you - I'll find you," he breathed, his cheek touching mine gently, lighting tiny fireworks on my skin.

I love the little details that one might miss, for example: "I wrapped my arms around his back and held him as tightly as I could, afraid he'd drift away." I don't know, I just love that; the whole "...afraid he'd drift away." Sigh. :) I read it and then I cling onto the description for a long while before I move on, lol. I don't know...those things just get to me, haha. Also, lines such as: "...he breathed, his cheek touching mine gently, lighting tiny fireworks on my skin." Lighting tiny fireworks on my skin. <3333 Man, what words can do to one's soul.

Amanda on Angelfire: I really LOVED this book, it had so much action, with all the fighting scenes. This awesome book was just awesome. I couldn't put it down! Oh, Will was just a gentlemen with a sexy smile. I also have him Tuesdays and weekends (Mocha) hehe. I want my own Will.

I absolutely loved this book because it had action, romance, and much, much more! Moulton’s characters Ellie, Will (HOT), Cadan (also hot) play this great role in trying to help Ellie recover her memory of her past lives, as a hunter. Ellie and Will are awesome heroes because they can rely on each other during these hunts. After reading Angelfire, I needed the next book!! I am waiting for it to come out, and that ending left me wanting more. Wings of the Wicked comes out on January 31, 2012. My favorite character would be Ellie because in my mind while reading Angelfire, I can picture all the things Moulton was envisioning. Ellie was fun, courageous, strong and is easy to get along with. She gets to team up with Will!! OMG, Will is one of the most secretive/hot male character ever! If you haven’t read Angelfire I recommend you do because it is awesome, and Courtney Allison Moulton is one talented writer (wishes to read Wings). Be sure to check out this series, it will not disappoint you in writing, characters, plot and soo many hot new characters that you must know!! Cant wait to meet new characters in her upcoming novel!!!

I totally agree with you about Ellie! She's pretty awesome and she gets to team up with Will which means she's with him like twenty four freakin' seven! Talk about being jealous! ;)

And guys, in 72 hours - seventy-two flippin' hours - guess which book I'll have in my hands?!?! Wings of the freakin' Wicked! That's right! Oh, and Incarnate too because they both share the same book birthday! Me ish so excited! I've been waiting for this day since the minute I finished Angelfire and even though I already read Wings...it's a totally different sort of excitment because this is teh pretty, shiny copy that I'll get to finally hold! Squishy Bloody Crack for Reapers: Day 5

I caught a glimpse of Will out the corner of my eye. He was doubled over with one hand on the wall to hold himself up, his eyes squeezed tight and mouth open in physical agony—as if someone had slammed him in the chest with a hammer. I stopped in the crowd, staring at him as he struggled to right himself, Ava’s hand on his back, her expression full of worry. But he pushed her away and forced himself to stand tall as he searched wildly over the heads of my friends and classmates, looking for me. Then he barreled through the crowd, spinning and turning in every direction, calling my name in a fearful voice. I studied him, perplexed, and the truth of what I’d just witnessed hit me like a truck. He always knew when I was upset or in pain. Our bond, the magic that I put into his tattoos binding him to me, our bond that allowed him to know what I was feeling… He always knew I was in pain because my pain caused him to hurt. The agony I felt at that moment spilled into him, making him feel through pain what I felt emotionally. I did that to him. I caused him pain. I was cancer, a disease on everyone who knew and loved me.

This quote was brought to you from Wings of the Wicked. Sigh. Love this boook so much! <333 I love how in tune Will and Ellie are to each other. Everything she feels, he feels. *girly, shrilly, shriek* I don't know....I just heart this book oh so very, very, very much; I just wanna drown in it. :)

Every time I reach the edge of fangirling for this book, I become a huge mess and my brain gets taken over with incoherent thoughts, just words flying at me, words such as: swoon, green eyes, LOVE, swords, blood, pain, wings, WIIIIIIIILLL <333, heart-pounding, agony, fear, like, love, like, love, like, love, love, love, love, love, love, craziness, what the mutha flippin' eff, epicness. From all the blog posts this week, it's not a big surprise that I am truly, madly, and deeply in love with Courtney's Angelfire series and like I said, I can't put into words just how much I love these books and by now, you guys are probably like:

Melody on Angelfire: I have never read a book with angels and reapers in it can you believe that? Well I haven't until now but I'm so glad I did because I definitely enjoyed reading Angelfire. Angelfire is definitely a killer book with killer characters, crazy romance and packed full of action. While you're reading Angelfire you'll never know what's going to happen and I just love that!

The characters in this book are all really lovable especially Will! Will is one of those characters that will make you wish he was real because he's super kind, sweet and caring towards Ellie. Will's not just super kind, sweet and caring towards Ellie because he's her guardian; it's that he actually does care about her which makes him extremely swoon-worthy. Whenever Ellie needs him he'll be there and if he's surrounded by a bunch of reapers he'll find a way to get back to her, which is once again super swoon-worthly. Ellie is one strong heroine, fighting/being hunt down by reapers that want to destroy her soul at night and trying to be a regular teenage girl during the day, so let's face it if that were me I wouldn't be as strong and as brave as Ellie because I doubt being hunted down by reapers that want to destroy your soul is very fun and entertaining. Now on to Cadan, who is the bad boy yet he's really sweet, there's just one scene with Cadan and Ellie that will make you swoon and I really hope in Wings of the Wicked we'll be seeing more of him because I would love to learn more about him.

Over all I really enjoyed reading Angelfire and I cannot wait till Wings of the Wicked is released which is less than a week now and I'm so EXCITED! I would really recommend this to anyone who loves action and romance because Angelfire definitely has that! And now would be the perfect time to read Angelfire because you won't have to wait for book 2, Wings Of The Wicked!!!

Hey, it's Melody from Mid winter Reviews and today I'll be sharing one of my favorite scenes from Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton and my review.

I bit my lip to keep from grimacing as something popped inside me, trying uselessly to heal. "I'm all right." Will's eyes flashed brightly as he cupped my face with both hands, smoothing my hair back, examining for damage. He knew. He hadn't found the wound yet but it was there. "You're hurt where? Please let me help you. Where is it?" As his heart broke in front of me, tears slid down my cheeks as I pulled away, refusing to let him see. I didn't want it to be real for him. Not again. The sudden movement caused me to cry out and double over. Will screamed my name and fell over me, throwing his sword away and pulling me close to him as my knees hit the ground. Red drenched my dress and pooled around me, soaking the dress with darkness like a pit leading to hell.

This is one of my favorite scenes because I think it's really sweet and sad. And for some strange reason I like sad scenes, plus it's a bonus that this is a scene between Will and Ellie from her past life which we don't get much insight on.

Side note: Sad scenes are one of my favorite because it makes you actually feel something like what the characters are feeling and I just love that feeling you get, when your feeling what they feel.

He said nothing but only stared at Cadan. Will's eyes glowed bright green, and even in the dark hall I could see his power humming furiously around him. Cadan rose to his feet, cupping this jaw - laughing. I would have bet everything I owned that Will's punch should have crushed every bone in Cadan's face. How was he even alive?

Unless he wasn't human.

Oooo, a sneak peak at the oh-so-famous Cadan! :) He's something, I tell you! In Angelfire, all we know is that Will isn't his biggest fan, at all. But after I finished reading Wings of the Wicked, I couldn't help but fall for him a teeny, tiny bit. He's definitely a character that grows on you and after seeing more and more of him, you just won't be able to resist. He's charming, witty, comical, caring, and he's got a little edge to him that just makes him fun and carefree.

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, Courtney shared with all of us, Cadan's theme song for Wings of the Wicked and after reading the book and finally listening to his song, I couldn't help but think:

Okay, onward! Today's post is by Sam from Paper Cuts who did a very unique kind of post! She just finished Angelfire recently and her review is still fresh on the blog! Speaking of, seee *points* Sam was able to finish Angelfire just in time for Wings of the Wicked's release! She didn't have to wait about a year and then some for its sequel! You can definitely finish Angelfire within a day, easily, because it's that awesome! If I were you, I'd get to it!

Sam on Angelfire: Okay, Ellie first! She is one tough cookie! She has the world thrown at her and she doesn't crack! Ellie is one of those people you wish to be. Someone who is strong and has all the power in the world, but doesn't let it get to her head. She still cares about the people around her and about keeping everyone safe. Even her own Guardian angel, Will.

Speaking of Will.. Sighh...Will! He is one sexy beast! :) He would give his life up for Ellie's in a heartbeat. He is strong and powerful, and he is faithful. I want a Will. He stands by Ellie no matter what, and will never give up on her. And I repeat, I want a Will. 

Hey everyone! Hopefully, as you know Wings of the Wicked comes out January 31st, and in honor of that, Momo came up with this great idea to do a mini blog tour just on her blog! I loved Angelfire so I jumped at the chance to be apart of this! Luckily I was chosen and here we are now! 

If you haven't read Angelfire, then stop reading this post, go get the book, and begin reading. If you have read the book, then you are awesome and keep reading! Not that those of you who haven't read Angelfire aren't awesome, just not as awesome as the ones who have! :)

So I have a few pieces of jewelry that are really important to me. They were all given to me by various family members and I love them dearly.

Two of them are rings that my Mom gave me. Another is a Pandora charm bracelet that my grandmother gave me, and the other is a Shama necklace that was given to my brother that I gladly took because he doesn't wear necklaces! 

If you have read Angelfire, then you know that Ellie has a wing necklace that was hers from way back when. I am happy to show you some of my favorites that I found when I googled winged necklaces! :)

 And here is an awesome picture of the ever crazy Nicki Minaj! I thought it would go well with the theme!! :)
