who doesn't love vikings?

on february 6, megan erickson tweeted this. as soon as i saw it, i jumped on it like mad because well... who doesn't love vikings? i have a slight... not obsession but... fascination (is it?) with them. that entire time era fascinates me so i was all, "MEGAN DO ETTTT OR ELSE!"

obvi, it's been a while since that conversation but the idea of reading a book about vikings has been lingering in the back of my mind. this morning, it shot to the forefront and omg... i found a viking romance series that... screw everything else, i'm diving into today!

but before i tell you what it is, let me tell you about how i found it. i know, i'm super weird like that. i like to track back to how i got to where i ended. ha, if that made any sense.

One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin.

But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.

Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.

Hmm, look at all that chocolate! Now that the cold weather has set in, I just want warm chocolate-ly yumminess. All that chocolate was definitely a tease, although not of the literary sort, lol. That picture was set there to distract you guys for a bit before I get back to this week's Teaser Tuesday.

"The name's Jude Ryder, since I know you're all but salivating like a rabid dog to know, and I don't do girlfriends, relationships, flowers, or regular phone calls. If that works for you, I think we could work out something special."

BWAHA, how about that for an introduction to the oh-so-sexy, Jude Ryder!
Even as I said the words, with as much conviction as I could muster, my eyes weren't able to peel themselves away from him as he ambled down the beach, spinning the football between his fingers.

Stopping suddenly, he turned around, that smile reforming when he found my stare on him. "So, Lucy," he hollered, tucking the ball under his arm, "How much further are you going to let me get before you give me your phone number?"

Whatever premonitions I'd had about Jude and heartbreak going hand in hand flew out the window. I wanted to get up and break dance I was so stoked.

However, I still had some dignity in the name of all women and couldn't make this easy on him. "How far do you think the edge of the world is?" I called back, rolling onto my side.

Jude shook his head, chuckling silently. "You playing hard to get, Lucy?"

"No, Jude," I replied, arching a brow. "I'm impossible to get."

CRASHI am all sorts of in love with Crash that I just can't take it! Everyone seriously needs to check it out and give it a shot! There are so many scenes that I wanted to share with you but I love these two, especially that second one! It was so cute and Jude...goodness, I love him so much!

If you have a Teaser Tuesday, link me and I'll stop by to check it out!

Happy Tuesday and always, happy reading!

My Teaser
Arobynn had sent Sam to see why Ben and Gregori were missing?

"If we'd grabbed his body," Sam said, refusing to back down from her glare, "it would have led them right to the Keep."

"You're assassins," she growled at him. "You're supposed to be able to retrieve a body without being seen."

"If you'd been there, you would have done the same."

Celaena pushed her chair back so hard it flipped over. "If I'd been there, I would have killed all of them to get Ben's body back!" She slammed her hands on the table, rattling the glasses.

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord (Throne of Glass, #0.1)
Recently, I've been stuck on contemporary but now I'm taking a break from them and jumping into some fantasy and I think this series will be just the perfect kick! Melissa Buell from Have Imagination, Will Write let me borrow her copy of Throne of Glass but before I actually start the book, I'm going to read all the novellas first and well, The Assassin and the Pirate Lord is the first one. I am so in love with novels like this one--the time period, the medieval time era that involves swords and weapons and horses and--it just amazes me! I haven't read a lot of stories like this, only Grave Mercy, but recently I've discovered quite a few more that fall under this category which makes me so ecstatic! I can't wait to dive further into this series because I know without a doubt that I'll love it obsessively!

I picked this teaser to share with all of you because at just five percent into the story, it already shows how BAMF Celaena is! She's so tough and kick-butt and I'm just like:

I know I'm going to love her like cray and I'm just telling you guys now, I'm adding Celaena Sardothien to my BADDEST CHICKS list ;)

THAT IS ALL.
