In My Mailbox (10)

IMM is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren with some inspiration from Alea at Pop Culture Junkie where we post about books we have received during the week via mailbox, local library, or store bought, etc.
_________________________
Wow, it's been nearly a year since my last In My Mailbox - seriously! My last IMM was on February 2nd, 2011. In my last IMM blog post, I started doing vlogs and for some reason since then I stopped. Anywho, let's get to the present. These are the books I received since last Saturday - January 7th, 2012.
Since Saturday, I received a package(s) every day up until Wednesday. On Friday evening, I went to my B&N and purchased the Soul Screamers omnibus, Volume One for the Soul Screamers reading challenge! I also purchased Switched by Amanda Hocking because I have been wanting to read this series since forever and I absolutely love the new covers! They're so gorgeous! :)
And the most exciting package I received this week was from Lisa Desrochers! Right when I saw the package with her name on it, I knew right away what book was within! I couldn't tear through the package wrap fast enough! I am such a freakin' fangirl of this brilliant series! I'm a bit sad to see it end but I'm totally excited at the same time! I picked it up last night and I'm already two hundred pages in...waaah; almost done! Eeep!
• Transcendent: Tales of the Paranormal by Lani Woodland, Melonie Piper, Rita Webb, Wendy Swore, Melanie Marks, Heather McCubbin, and Evan Joseph (Goodreads | Amazon)
Huge thanks to Yara from Once Upon a Twilight! for the ARC of Kiss of Frost, Rita Webb for contacting and mailing me the copy of Transcendent, S. F. Robertson from Wastepaper Prose for the ARC of Tempest, Lynn Rush for sending me a copy of Wasteland, Shellie from Creative Reads for purchasing and mailing me a copy of Anew, Jena from Shortie Says for mailing me her copy of Obsidian, and lastly, thanks to Lisa Desrochers for mailing me an ARC of Last Rite.
I purchased Soul Screamers and Switched this past Friday and I absolutely cannot wait to dive into those two as well! Aaah, so excited! Anyway, I apologize for the messy/unorganized format of this post! It has been so long since my last IMM post that I don't even really know how to format my list of books, my thank you's, and what not, lol!
Lastly,
What did you receive in your mailbox this week?

Top 10 Book Boyfriends In 2011
Top 10 of 2011 is a week long event hosted by the awesome Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic, Lisa from A Life Bound By Books, Rachel from Fiktshun and Patricia and Jaime from Two Chicks On Books where we look back on all the awesome books of 2011 and look forward to all the amazing new releases of 2012.
When I first saw the topic for today's post, I immediately went, "ONLY TEN?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" Which was sort of dumb since I knew this whole week is all about the top ten but still, only ten? Choosing these guys was really hard. I think this list was the hardest to write for this whole week, actually. I love all of these guys very much - my husbands. <33 Okay, I'm rambling, let's get to them, in no particular order.
TOP 10 BOYFRIENDS IN 2011
1. Will from Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton
Why: Because I love his green eyes like crazy and his tattoos pushed me over the cliff.
Holy smokes, look at those eyes! I died.
2. Aiden St. Delphi from Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Why: Because of his thundercloud eyes. That is all.
Mmm-hmm, what that ↑ ↑ ↑ says. <3
3. Ash, the Ice Prince from The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa
Why: Because he's a prince, duuh! That alone stole my heart.
I totally picture my Ash just like this. :)
4. Luc Cain from Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers
Why: Because he's hot - literally - and just his character overall, like the things he says.
5. Dimitri Belikov from The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Why: First off, he's Russian - hello! And because he's just a sexy mother trucker!
Oh hot damn, Ben Barnes would be a pretty sexy Dimka too!
And check this out ↓ ↓ ↓
How sexy is that? I love Sophia Bush! <3
6. Haden Black from Falling Under by Gwen Hayes
Why: Because he's so mysterious and dangerous.
Doesn't this picture just scream sexy, dangerous, and mysterious?
Totally Haden!
7. Samuel Roth from Linger by Maggie Stiefvater
Why: Because he sings, plays the guitar, and he makes paper cranes. :)
I know, the picture says max for some reason, but oh well.
And look at those eyes!
8. Alex Kylar from Angel Burn by L. A. Weatherly
Why: Because he's a regular human but a super hot one at that and his AK tattoo on his arm.
See that tattoo right there? Uh-huh.
9. Renier Laroche from Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
Why: Because he's an alpha male and because he's TEH SEXXXXX. <3
This could easily be Ren for me!
10. Patch Cipriano from Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
Why: Because he's got so much charisma!
Remember this picture?! UUUUUNNNNFFFF.
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
BWAHAHAHAHA, wasn't that a whole lot of sexiness?! Oh boy, I had a lot of fun writing up this post! Okay, to be honest, number nine and ten were cheat-cheats but I mean, who could resist Patch and Ren, for crying out loud! ;)
Who are your top ten boyfriends from this whole entire year?! Did any of your boyfriends make my list?! I would love to hear...or rather, read your thoughts! If you made a post, drop the link to it down there in the comments and I'll be sure to swing by!
Tomorrow's topic will be Top 10 Characters in 2011, such as favorite villains, bffs, the other guy in the love triangle, etc. ;) Come back and check out my top ten; don't miss it!

Top 10 Books I’ve Read In 2011
Oh my gosh, here we are - the last week of 2011. I can't believe it, this year seriously flew by. I know, lots of people probably say this at the end of every year but for some reason, this year really flew by in the blink of an eye!
1. The Crescent by Jordan Deen - I had read The Crescent way back in March, during the weekend of my birthday, to be exact, and instantly I fell in love with it. I'm not sure if it was because of my sister's constant raving that rubbed off on me or what, but the storyline of this series was unique and really captivating. I don't think many have heard of this series but I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone who can read. And I love it so much that my number two is:

2. Half Moon by Jordan Deen - Yeah, I love this series that much. Jordan Deen did amazing stuff in book two. I can't even express why I love them so much. Of the two though, this one is definitely my most favorite but who knows since book three hasn't been released yet. You know those kind of books where after you finish it you don't even know how to think or function? Yeah, these two stunned me breathless! I am still blown away by them because I still haven't gathered my thoughts completely to write my reviews for them. That amazing!

3. Wings of the Wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton - Aaah, I get so excited when I, or anyone, talks about Wings of the Wicked. It doesn't release until February 1st of 2012 (all of you should go pre-order it right now) so not a lot of people have read it yet but man oh man, this book did things to me. I think it was the emotional turmoil that took me over the edge. This book is action packed but I was hooked by the heart to Ellie and Will's relationship. Courtney Allison Moulton is a genius. A genius, I tell you!

4. Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout - I love this book solely for the leading female, Alex. Man, I feel like I've been raving about this girl for a decade now. ;) She makes the Covenant series what it is and I mean, the guys are a total plus but Alex is what makes this series shine! Also, the mythology behind it is also very interesting and nothing like I've ever read! Total favorite!

5. Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead - Any book that can make me bawl my eyes out immediately make the list for me. And man, I cried like a little 5 year old throwing a tantrum at a grocery store. I'm serious. If any of you have read this series, you might be able to understand why I was furious towards the end of this book. I was furious because...it was one those situations where I was like, "YOU CAN'T UNDO SOMETHING LIKE THAT! WHAT THE HECK WAS RICHELLE THINKING?!" Yeah, I was uber sad and pissed at the same time so my tears were full of fury and pain. And this book was totally my favorite from the entire series.

6. Falling Under by Gwen Hayes - Like I mentioned above, I'm a sucker for books that stir my emotions straight to tears and this book was another one of those. Gwen Hayes surely knows how to write a creeptastic novel. I just remember being seriously creeped out by this book but I loved it at the same time. And the ending was intense...hence the tears!
7. A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford - This book is definitely a dark and twisty read. Whenever I think about this book, I see darkness, lol! Deep sigh....this book was surely something. I really enjoyed this read because it was different; Leah took angels and demons to a whole new level! And look at that cover - gorgeous!
8. Of Poseidon by Anna Banks - Omg, I know this book is not even out until May of 2012 but the awesome author sent me a copy to read and asdfjkl;asdfjkl;! ;) I can't even...blerugh! It's such a terrific read, maybe because I haven't read anything with mermaids before, but either way, make sure you guys include this into your "Must Read for 2012" pile.
9. Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers - Original Sin was one hot, sizzling read! As most of you probably know, I am a ginormous fan of Lisa Desrochers's books. The guys in this series are to die for, I mean, Luc Cain - humananah humananah and Gabe definitely has his appeal too! The dialogue of the different points of views just flowed off the pages and it was very entertaining to read.
10. Angel Burn by L. A. Weatherly - First off, I absolutely love Weatherly's writing! It was just...beautiful! I was completely blown away by the different take on angels, like they were seriously scary! I am also madly in love with Alex Kylar because he was just the normal human boy but he was oh so very hot and sexy!

The Novel Formerly Known as Hellbent Officially has a Title!
If you don't know anything about me, the one thing you should know is that I am the biggest fan of the Personal Demons trilogy by the one and only, Lisa Desrochers. Weeeell, hello there mister Luc Cain! *smiiiiiiiiles* It's quite a pleasure to be here with you today!
- Is there anything that you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?
No. Well…except let my infernal brethren get anywhere near Frannie…and eat lima beans.
Is this a serious question? No. He’s limited by his quaint celestial notions of right and wrong, and by all the rules that bind Celestials. In other words, he’s useless.
- What's the one thing that makes Frannie uber special to you? What about her?
When we met, she was so wounded. She did a good job of hiding it behind all her judo kickassery, and the tough façade she put up, but she was afraid to let anyone in. But she trusted me enough to let down the walls. And when she did, and I saw her soul…
- Finish this line: "And I'll state something rash, she had the most amazing _______!"
judo skills (That’s all you’re getting from me.)
- If there's an exception to every rule, is there an exception to that rule?
Of course.
- Give three adjectives to describe the perfect kiss.
Frannie, Frannie, Frannie.
EEE! Thank you Luc for being here today! That was fun now, wasn't it? ;) *wails* Don't leave; stay...FOREVER!

Hi Frannie! Thanks SO much for stopping by Books Over Boys today!
- Now, I know both these boys vying for your attention is nothing but uber hottness but is there anything that you like and/or dislike about Gabe and Luc?
Gabe is bossy. He keeps telling me what to do. I know he thinks it’s for my own good, but it drives me nuts. Luc thinks he always has to protect me. The truth is, I could kick his butt blindfolded. But try telling him that.
How it was, I guess. I’d be hanging with Taylor and Riley, fixing cars with Grandpa, and getting ready to go to Los Angeles for college.
- Gabe seems to be the light in your darkest hours, so what does that make Luc?
The dark in my lightest hours ;p But, seriously…this whole thing—angels and demons fighting for me—has me pretty freaked out, and Gabe helps to take the edge off that a little. But Luc is my heart and my soul. He makes me think that maybe I’m not totally horrible after all.
- If you were to identify Gabe and Luc with a scent, what would they be?
Easy. Luc is cinnamon. Gabe smells really fresh. I describe it as summer snow or winter sunshine, ’cause there aren’t really words for it.
- If I took a look at your iPod right now, what are three songs you are currently obsessed with?
I love The Fray so something by them is always playing on repeat. Right now it’s How to Save a Life. Also, there would be My Chemical Romance, The Ghost of You and For the First Time by The Script.
- Give three adjectives to describe the perfect kiss.
Wow…okay… slow, soft, and meaningful.
That was lots of fun! Thanks again, for taking time out of your day to stop by B.O.B! Don't be a stranger!

Original Sin Week - Character Interview: Gabe

FIRST OF ALL, I want to say a big HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY TO ORIGINAL SIN! EEEEE! I am so excited for Lisa Desrochers! If you are on twitter, tweet her a happy book birthday, same thing for facebook and blogger! The links to find her are listed below! :)
As a part of the Original Sin Week celebration, today I get the amazing chance at interviewing, the one and only, Gabe from Lisa Desrochers' Personal Demons trilogy!
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Hello Gabe! It's a delight to have you here with us today! OK, that totally just sounded like I wanted to...eat you or something, lol! ;) Not at all.
- So you've been Shielding Frannie since she was little, how does it feel to know that you've been there all along and then have Luc Cain come and "sweep her off her feet?"
The biggest surprise was that Luc found her in the first place. Her Shield should have prevented that. That’s the whole point. But she and Luc are connected in some way that I don’t understand. As far as sweeping her off her feet, he, like most of his kind, can be very persuasive. Would I prefer she’d chose someone other than a demon to be with? Sure. But it’s her life and her choice who she wants to be with.
- Have you always felt something towards Frannie...or are your feelings coming to surface because of Luc?
*clears throat* You are totally going to push this, aren’t you? Okay. Let me clear this up. I am a Dominion. A Seraph. Like all Seraphim, I was never human. Emotion is uniquely human, so I don’t really have “feelings” for Frannie in the way you mean. She’s my charge and I want to keep her safe. That’s it. You all are reading way too much into the situation.
I think everyone has it in them to be a hero. It’s just a matter of doing the right thing. Am I a hero? No. I’m just doing my job.
- What do you do in your spare time...if you ever have any spare time?
There really is no spare time. Right now Frannie is a priority, so I’m spending more time than usual on the mortal coil, but coordinating the guardians is a full time job. I have to oversee their training, make sure all assignments are current and necessary and report back to Gabriel.
- Name two things you consider yourself to be very good and very bad at.
I try to avoid passing judgment on anyone, including myself, so I’m not really sure how to answer this question. If pressed, I’d say that I’m good at forgiving and I’m good at my job. I don’t really think I’m bad at anything, but there are a lot of things I’ve never tried, so…
- Give three adjectives to describe the perfect kiss.
I’ve only ever kissed one person, and that was mostly by accident, so I don’t really have a framework to answer this question.
Wow, love the responses! I loved having you on the blog today, Gabe! Come back soon! <3
My awesome readers, check back on Thursday for a one of a kind interview with Frannie Cavanaugh!
Also, make sure you grab the Original Sin Week button located up at the top of the blog; it might just earn you a few extra points in the giveaway! I'm just sayin'. *wink wink*
