I am a huge book/music person so it's always a treat for me to get to see the music that inspired the book, characters, scenes, etc. So, check out Greer's playlist and let me know what you think of the song choices. Psst, Greer has excellent taste! ;p
Before we get to today's post, though, you all need to know that today is the amazing and oh-so-very awesome, Cait Greer's birthday -- woot, woot!
Author: Cait Greer
Release date: October 9, 2013
The Paranormal Uprising brought myth and legend out of the shadows and into real life. The war that followed tore the world apart. Two years after the Uprising, twenty-year-old Kendry is learning the hard way that the battle lines aren’t as clear-cut as human versus para. And the hard way means being hunted down by both human militants and para separatists. Trouble is, she has no idea why.
On the run with only her mysterious gargoyle guardian, Kendry knows that finding out why she’s on everyone’s most-wanted list will be no easy task. It means charging headlong into a war she’d hoped to avoid, and is woefully unprepared for. So when she realizes that everyone in her life has been lying to her, discovering that she’s somehow the key to ending the war is the last thing she needs. With both sides tearing up the world to find her, it’s decision time for Kendry—keep running, or stand up and fight.

Remember when I said that Cait, ParaWars, and I go way back? In January of 2012, Cait started sending me snippets of ParaWars and I got hooked because well... GARGOYLES -- HELLO! And remember when I said that I am a huge book/music person? When I started reading PWU, I asked Cait for a few songs that went really well with the book and out of all the songs that she sent me, 20 Good Reasons by Thirsty Merc just screamed at me.
Long story short, whenever I listen to 20 Good Reasons, it always, without fail, brings me right back to PWU and that time in January of 2012. Now when I listen to it, it makes me really nostalgic. Especially, this version.
Lastly, remember when I said Greer has excellent taste? IT'S TRUE!
About the author:
Cait writes YA and NA stories that range from Sci-Fi and Fantasy (because she loves making worlds and things up), to Contemporary (because she kind of sort of fell into it and discovered she’s not half bad). Her best friends growing up were the combined works of Robin McKinley, Madeleine L’Engle, Anne McCaffrey, Andre Norton, and too many others to mention.
She drives a Jeep, loves the outdoors, takes pictures of everything she can, and writes obsessively. A martial artist and a former teacher, Cait is owned by two cats who started out incredibly small, and are now incredibly huge.
She currently live in Utah, but Virginia will always be home. Her first book, Eyre House, is a New Adult Southern Gothic retelling of the Gothic classic, Jane Eyre. Her second, ParaWars: Uprising, is the first in a New Adult Paranormal Trilogy. Both are available from Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
