Teaser Tuesday (32): Rome by Jay Crownover

This weekly meme is brought to you by MizB from Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along, just do the following:

  • Grab your current read,
  • Open to a random page,
  • Share two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page,
  • Be careful not to include spoilers; make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away because you don't want to ruin the book for others,
  • Share the title and the author so Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their to-be-read pile if they like your teaser.

My Teasers:

He dragged my hand over his breatbone, across that corrugated and taunt plane of his stomach, over his belly button, and down that light happy trail, stopping when he reached the stiff material of his fly, the heat and hardness of his skin behind it burning instantly through the fabric into my fingers. He didn't press me any further.

"It just messes with my already overworked mind when you tell me one thing and then look at me like you want to lick me all over like an ice cream cone in the same breath. I'm trying to figure my own shit out. I don't have the mental foritude or the patience to try and figure yours out as well."

"So here's the deal. I don't need you to figure my shit out, I can do it all on my own. I look at you like I want to lick you all over because I do."

I feel like such a broken record every time I get passionate about a book but I guess that's because the feelings are the same—excitement, omgomgomg, happy-happy-clap-clap—every time. It's no different this time, whatsoever. If possible, those feels have been multiplied to the max!

I finished Rome by Jay Crownover a few days ago and OH MY SEXY BIG BROTHER ARCHER, it's amazing and awesome and so, so, so good! The Marked Men series is definitely, without a doubt, one of my all-time favorites and Crownover delivers them with such a real and legit experience every time that it's hard to not love them.

I am so grateful that I received an early copy because it was one of my most anticipated reads of 2014 and I'm so happy that I got to read it early. Or else... I would have probably went psych-ward crazy with the wait! So, what did you think of my teasers? Also, if you have a teaser that you'd like to share, link me in the comments below and I'll swing by to check it out!
