Welcome to day three of my month long celebration event for my blog's upcoming third year in existence! ;p If you'd like to check out the first three days, you can do so by clicking over to the blogoversary celebration tab at the top of my blog.
For today's feature, I've got Piper Shelly, author of the oh-so-cyoot Play With Me, here as a part of this month's celebration! I was first introduced to Shelly at the end of last year. One day, I got an email from Damaris from Good Choice Reading about Play With Me and after a really convincing email, I decided to check out the book.
And OH. MY. GOODNESS. people !!!! It's seriously the funnest and cutest read ever! It's really short but man, you get drawn in so quick that it's insane; you blink once and you're nearly done! ;p Shelly made a fan out of me with Play With Me and because she got me hook, line, and sinker, I knew I just had to have her by Books Over Boys. So, without further ado...
I’m weird because…
I prefer the company of fiction characters rather than real people.
I can fall in love with somebody, just because he has a special talent.
The first thing I look at about men is their hands.
I can’t eat in front of guys I have a crush on.
I wish fairies, dragons, angels, demons and vampires would really exist.
I’m awesome because…
I can write wonderful stories and male leads that every girl or woman immediately falls in love with.
I’m just the right bit of crazy to be cute.
I make the best tiramisu in the world.
I can pick up quickly on people’s emotions and act the right way.
I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, and still I’m cool.
I’m a bad friend because…
Seriously, I’m not a bad friend at all. And all of my friends will second that. :)
I’m a good friend because…
I put them first.
I always listen to them and don’t cut them off midsentence.
I never press the ignore button on the phone when they are calling.
If one of them wants to hang out, I leave my writing behind and meet them.
I never forget anyone’s birthday and I always come up with the coolest presents.
I’m sad because…
The world could be so much better if people stopped fighting each other.
The world is so greedy.
No one pays attention to the poor people, only to how to make profit of what little they have.
I have too little time for my family.
I can’t change the big issues.
I’m happy because…
I found a way of expressing myself with writing.
I could turn my hobby into business and am successful with it.
I’m married to the most adorable man in the world.
My son is happy.
I make my way the way I want it.
I live in a wonderful place.
I have amazing parents and was loved all my life.
I can travel around and see the world.
I know how to tune out a mad world and live in a fantasy.
I’m excited for…
My next release.
The 29th of August. It’s my husband’s birthday and my present for him is a bungee jump off a 200m bridge.
A trip to the Maldives Islands, which my husband and I will go on in a few years.
Visiting Disneyland again.
Meeting my guardian angel after death.
I’ve recently been to Las Vegas for a Romance Novel Convention, where there was also an award night. One of my books was a finalist for the RONE award, so this awesome lady from the InD’Tale Magazine invited me personally to come over and hang out with them, because she loved my books and thought it would be fun to meet. I agreed and flew over. My book didn’t win in the end, but it didn’t matter, because at that convention I took an epic class with Liliana Hart, who told us some secrets about getting from zero to the top with our books, and I soaked in everything she said. She had a fabulous way of opening our eyes. It was all about keywords, the perfect moment, boxing books, money, dedication, etc. So, long story short…I’m going to quit my day job.
I’m a super friendly person. Always. Except when I write. People should never confront me with anything important when I’m immersed in one of my stories, because my brain doesn’t work right then. I only listen with one ear, and if they don’t go away within a certain amount of time, which is about 2 minutes if we stretch it, I’m turning into some sort of epically mean harpy and go really sharp on them. I just don’t want to be disturbed when I’m busy with my characters, is that weird?
I hate it when people complain. Some ranting is okay, really, but there are those who find something to complain about every other minute, and then they go on and on and on. If you’re unhappy with what you are or what you have, then there’s always the possibility to change it. Don’t expect things to get better just because you complain about them. And I’m really the wrong person to complain to, because I’ll just tune you out after a few minutes…because I can’t stand it. Sorry, but I CAN’T!
About the author:
I’m an Austrian lass—totally uncomplicated and up to anything fun.
I grew up in Vienna – not by free will but because my parents decided to move there when I was only 4 years old. I. Hated. The. City. Everything about it. So right after graduation I moved back to Upper Austria, where I settled down with a nice husband and an awesome laptop.
I’ve been a storyteller all my life. Already in kindergarten, I came up with the most exotic fantasies and tales. My teacher would call me a liar. I call it the cornerstone of my writing career.
People always told me you can’t make a living with being an author. So when my first novella Play With Me came out and shot straight to the stars within the first week, I was totally dumbstruck. Took me a while to realize what was happening, LOL.
